What to expect
On arrival, you will be greeted by your personal host who will take you to Brokenwood’s private Graveyard Shiraz Tasting Room. Enjoy 3 uniquely garnished oysters from The Wood Restaurant, perfectly matched with 3 styles of premium Brokenwood Semillon.
Your host will then guide you behind the scenes on a detailed tour of the winery where you will learn the secrets of wine production before taking a closer look at the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of the Hunter Valley - the exceptional Graveyard Shiraz vines.
Enjoy an intimate fine dining experience seated in Brokenwood’s private dining room with a locally sourced 4 course degustation lunch and expertly matched award-winning Brokenwood wines.
Complete your experience with a gourmet grazing charcuterie platter amongst the wine barrels in the barrel hall and be one of the first to taste Brokenwood’s pre-release Graveyard Vineyard Shiraz.

The recently created ‘Soil-to-Cellar’ experience at Brokenwood was honestly the best Hunter Valley experience I’ve ever done. This was an expertly tailored schedule put together by our knowledgeable host Alex and the wonderful Venue Manager Jennifer. It started with Oyster and Semillon pairing, followed by a walk down to the Graveyard Vineyard in a pair of gumboots (provided) to inspect the grapes and learn some more about the art and science of winemaking. We came back up and ushered into a private room overlooking the cellar where we enjoyed the most AMAZING 4 course degustation and wine matching feast prepared by the talented chef Dion who explained every course to us personally. Between courses Alex treated us to a quick look in the ‘Museum’ as well 😉. Before the final course we got the opportunity to go for another little walk down into the cellar where we met the gorgeous resident Labrador and the most important people of all on the tour Kate and Emily the winemakers. Kate treated us to a taste of the Graveyard Vineyard Shiraz straight from the barrel... wow. What a drop. At the end of our experience we were presented with a couple of bottles of the Graveyard Shiraz to take home and enjoy.
