We have done whale watching is several other locations but none have compared to this tour by Eagle Wing Tours. The boat is wonderful with half the area with cover. We stayed outside in the bow as the weather was wonderful. began the tour with a distant sighting of an Orca pod, then moved out further from shore and had multiple humpback sightings. The topper however was a sighting of a pod of transient Orca's. We stayed with this group for over an hour. Just amazing. Crew was very knowledgeable and spend a good deal of time explaining and helping us understand the whale behavior and relationships among individual members of the pod. Great information. Photos were a bit tough because you do not want to miss any of the action while trying to take a good shot. finally just put down the camera and decided that I would just enjoy! Do this tour if you can. Worth every penny!!Highest possible recommendation. Our captain put us on 2 seperate pods of Orcas and we spent 75% of the trip watching the whales. We did not see any other whales but we were taken to see a mating pair of Bald Eagles and a group of sea lions. The naturalists on board were super friendly and wanted...
Highest possible recommendation. Our captain put us on 2 seperate pods of Orcas and we spent 75% of the trip watching the whales. We did not see any other whales but we were taken to see a mating pair of Bald Eagles and a group of sea lions. The naturalists on board were super friendly and wanted to answer questions. Jackets, hats and gloves provided, it can get cool while the boat is underway, even in the summer. Great for families. Your ticket also gets you 10% off select restaurants on Fisherman's Wharf. Check in early to take advantage of the discount! One of the best tours I've ever taken. My family of 6 spent the afternoon out on the ocean for this tour. One of the best tours I've ever taken. My family of 6 spent the afternoon out on the ocean for this tour. The boat was clean and well-appointed but the best part was the crew. They were very professional, and provided information about whales and everything we saw which made the trip so interesting. It was a little pricey... but well worth it. My advice.... take warm clothes and expect to get a little wet.We had an amazing outing. The weather was just fabulous. We were lucky enough to see two pods of Orcas meeting. The crew were very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly, which added to the whole experience.

I’m in no way an expert, but I have taken multiple whale watching tours. Hands down this tour was the most informative, Derek, our Naturalist, is so enthusiastic about what he does. His knowledge of all sea life is extensive, and as an educator, I’m happy to take what I learned back to share with my students. The rest of the crew were esepecually fun, friendly, helpful and a pleasure to spend 3 hours with. We saw plenty of Orcas and also Humpbacks. Sea Lions and Seals were plentiful, sunning the selves on the lighthouse rocks. I was thrilled to be in the catamaran as the temperature dropped later into the evening. I am looking forward to returning for another excursion. Was an easy walk from our hotel. Was a cloudy slightly rainy day but the ocean was calm. Was an easy walk from our hotel. Was a cloudy slightly rainy day but the ocean was calm. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly - willing answer questions. Based on a tip from their sources we set out towards Sooke. It was a great tip because we met up with 2 family groups consisting of a total of 12 orcas. Incredibly beautiful creatures that we watched for close to 2 hours. We then left them and followed a tip for a humpback whale - whom we also got to see. Staff we having such a great time that they lost track of the time so we go back a little late - but no one complained about that.
