Tutto ruota sulla figura di Federico Montefeltro e di Raffaello. Consiglio naturalmente una visita guidata: le guide partono dalla biglietteria ad orari prestabiliti e non c’è necessità di prenotare. Il costo della visita guidata è di 10 euro...
Non è il solito palazzo.. a cominciare dalla facciata. Tutto ruota sulla figura di Federico Montefeltro e di Raffaello. Consiglio naturalmente una visita guidata: le guide partono dalla biglietteria ad orari prestabiliti e non c’è necessità di prenotare. Il costo della visita guidata è di 10 euro. Il costo del biglietto del palazzo è invece 9 euro. Il palazzo è ben tenuto ed è davvero unico nel suo genere... lo studiolo di Federico, una vera chicca!... e poi perdersi di fronte alle opere di Raffaello, purtroppo poche, non ha prezzo!.. senza dimenticare Piero della Francesca e gli altri..Davvero unica la visita del Palazzo Ducale, con relativo panorama e scorci fotografici. Poco curata l'informazione turistica. I locali e i punti di ristoro affollati di gente, con tavoli sulle strade aperte al traffico dei mezzi a motore.

I had an amazing tour of the Ducal Palace with Cecy, who drove especially from Rome. Her in-depth knowledge (learned at the University of Urbino) of art history was fantastic to add to my own prior knowledge, and she was able to point out details and explain extraordinary little things that would have gone unnoticed alone. She was also extremely personable, and very helpful in going out of her way to help arrange transportation for me early the next morning. Since she is native to the area, her knowledge on all things Urbino is extraordinary, and I would highly recommend booking a tour with her.
