Tomas was fabulous – friendly, informative and funny! It was like getting a tour of Stockholm from a friend or relative (that you like). He had some really great stories and showed us interesting sites – like the unique Kungstragarden subway station. I’m a big Abba fan, so I mentioned to Tomas that we’d like him to include some Abba history on the tour. Because of this he suggested that we do a private tour with him. It was worth every “ore” aka penny. Tomas tailored the tour to our request and he included a special surprise, which we loved. He really went above and beyond. I was very hesitant regarding my trip abroad to Sweden, as I knew very little about the country and had never traveled outside the U.S. On our first real day we met with Tomas for a walking tour, which I had no expectations for. It turned out to be one of the more enjoyable aspects of our trip, ...
I was very hesitant regarding my trip abroad to Sweden, as I knew very little about the country and had never traveled outside the U.S. On our first real day we met with Tomas for a walking tour, which I had no expectations for. It turned out to be one of the more enjoyable aspects of our trip, and the most useful thing we could have ever done when traveling abroad. Tomas was very friendly and patient, and took us on a good ground-level tour of various parts of Stockholm. He injected historical information, and answered any and all questions we had about the city and culture. Most importantly, he showed us how to use the public transit system, which areas of town were overly expensive, and made other quality of life recommendations for our trip. If we hadn't done the tour we would have struggled for the rest of our trip, it gave us a good foundation to work with and soon we felt like Stockholm experts. I can't recommend this tour enough.daniellemcmanus

Tomas is a joy, and taking our walking tour with him was the best thing we did in Stockholm. We scheduled the tour for our first day in the city, and Tomas's tour took us to incredibly interesting sites (did you know the prime minister was shot down in the street?) that were beautiful and fascinating and just off the standard tourist path. The tour route was so well designed that we found ourselves going back to many of the places we covered on the tour just because they were so central to the Stockholm experience--but we would have just walked by most of them without realizing what we were missing (like the protester carvings on trees in Kungstragarden or the bank where the term "Stockholm syndrome" was born). This tour was central to our Stockholm visit because it crucially oriented us to the city--Tomas showed us how to use the subway, explained how the city neighborhoods are laid out, and gave us the kind of on-the-ground Stockholm knowledge we otherwise never would have experienced. Finally, Tomas himself is a genuine delight. He not only oriented us to the city but gave us a chance to talk with a native Stockholmer, to ask questions, and to learn about his own really interesting life. Without Tomas, we wouldn't have had a similar opportunity to get to hang out with and learn from a native. Massively recommended!David_S
