Day 1: First day in Udawalawa
Stop At: Udawalawe National Park, Udawalawe National Park
We'll pick you from your Hotel and travel with you to Udawalawe National Park where you can have a unforgettable Wildlife Safari.
Udawalawe National park being one of the biggest national parks in Sri Lanka host to a great variety of flora and fauna.
In Udawalawe travelers can see Sri Lankan Elephants attract Udawalawe reservoir.
You can witness the elusive Sri Lankan Leopard.
Travelers can see animals like Sri Lankan Sloth Bears, Rusty-Spotted Cat, Samber Deer, Axis Deer, Indian Muntjac, Sri Lankan Spotted Chevrotain, Wild Boar and Water Buffalo, Golden Jackal, Asian Palm Civet, Toque Macaque, Tufted Grey Langur.

Wir waren im Juni 2018 als Familie mit zwei 18 jährigen Kindern für 14 Tage in Galle im Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel. Da wir auch etwas von der Umgebung sehen wollten, suchten wir zunächst vergeblich nach einer vertrauenswürdigen Firma, die uns ein paar Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe zeigen sollte. S...
Wir waren im Juni 2018 als Familie mit zwei 18 jährigen Kindern für 14 Tage in Galle im Jetwing Lighthouse Hotel. Da wir auch etwas von der Umgebung sehen wollten, suchten wir zunächst vergeblich nach einer vertrauenswürdigen Firma, die uns ein paar Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe zeigen sollte. Schließlich hat uns die Hotelrezeption geholfen. Es kam Mahesh Kumara, der mit seinem feinen Englisch und seinem Charme für alle Sightseeing Wünsche eine schnelle Antwort fand. Wir machten zu viert eine Zweitagestour, die nicht zu überbieten ist. Mahesh und sein sympathischer und hilfsbereiter Fahrer kamen früh um 5 Uhr und holten uns noch halb schlafend im Hotel ab. Das Fahrzeug war neu, elegant und bot alle Annehmlichkeiten. Die gesamte Organisation funktionierte wie ein Schweizer Uhrwerk, Frühstück stand auf einer schattigen Veranda vor den Toren des Udawalawe Nationalparks bereit, der Jeep und der Ranger, der uns begleitete ebenfalls. Von Babyelefant bis Krokodil haben wir die dort lebenden Tiere aus nächster Nähe sehen können. Die Bilder und Begegnungen bleiben unvergesslich. Auf diese Weise ging die Tour weiter: Ella, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy. Alles war im Vorfeld organisiert: die perfekte und preiswerte Übernachtung mit Blick auf das Gebirge, die Zugfahrkarten (sehr begehrt, da es sich dabei um eins der schönsten Eisenbahnstrecken der Welt handelt), die Besichtigung von Nuwara Eliya. Das einzige Detail, was Mahesh nicht im Vorfeld kannte, war, dass ich an dem Tag Geburtstag hatte. Selbst dieses unbedeutende Detail wurde hervorragend gemeistert. Als wir im Hotel ankamen, warteten der perfekte Nachtmittagstee und eine Schokoladentorte auf uns. Mahesh hatte es von unterwegs organisiert. Bei den Gesprächen unterwegs lernte man sich besser kennen, so erfuhr Mahesh auch, dass mein Ehemann ein großer Orchideenliebhaber ist. Sofort organisierte er den Besuch des botanischen Gartens in Kandy. Unvergesslich! Wir fuhren quasi daran vorbei! Am Ende des zweiten Tages (besser gesagt am Anfang des dritten Tages, denn wir sind nach Mitternacht in Galle angekommen) hatten wir mehr gesehen und erfahren als erhofft. Wir können die Organisation mit sehr gutem Gewissen uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen. Auch wünschen wir uns bei einem erneuten Besuch in Sri Lanka, denselben Komfort und Qualität der Betreuung wieder zu erfahren.
