Overview

Kemeri National Park was established in 1997. With a territory of 38 165 ha is the third largest National Park in Latvia. The greatest national treasure in the Kemeri National Park is the diversity of wetlands there – swamps, shallow seashore lakes, bogs, and animals that live in the National Park.

Jurmala is located on the Gulf of Riga, at a distance of 25 km to the West of Riga. During this tour, you will have a chance to see the charming wooden summer cottages, decorated with fascinating carvings dating back to the 1900s and successfully harmonizing with the more recently built cottages and spa health centers. You will have a stroll along the golden sand sea coast as well as a walk along the central pedestrian Jomas Street full of cafes and souvenirs.

Additionally, you will be provided with a choice of excellent places to have lunch with traditional Latvian or modern cuisine during this tour.

Stop At: Kemeri Historical Park, Kemeru kurorta vesturiskais centrs, Jurmala Latvia

After experiencing Latvia’s most extensive wetland bog, your guide will take you to Kemeri town, where the emperor Nicholas I of Russia gave this land for building the first bathhouse with mineral water.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Jurmala, Jurmala, Riga Region

After the visit to Kemeri town, you will have a drive-through tour of the seaside city of Jurmala, stopping for leisure time at the beach, with an option to take in the treetop views from a tower in Dzintari Forest Park.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Dzintari Forest Park, Meza prospekts, Jurmala 2015 Latvia

Park is intended both for the fans of active and relaxing leisure activities.
Playgrounds for the children of various ages, pavements for roller skaters and pedestrians, skate park, streetball courts, cafes, parking lots, and bathrooms are located in the park. The park is open all year round. Cross-country skiing is available in winter. In mid-May of 2010, a viewing tower was opened in Dzintari Forest Park, thus supplementing the offer of the park and the various options for activities. The viewing platform of the tower is located at the height of 33.5 m. The tower has 12 balconies. It is publicly available free of charge during the open hours of the forest park.

Stop At: Dzintari Concert Hall, Turaidas iela 1 Dzintari, Jurmala 2015 Latvia

The Dzintari Concert Hall is one of the landmarks of Jūrmala — a real pearl of nature and architecture next to the Baltic Sea.
The building of the Dzintari Concert Hall was built in 1936; it is a great example of neo-classical architecture with features of national romanticism.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Jurmala Beach, Jurmala Latvia

In the city centre, the sandy area measures from 25 to 50 metres wide from the water to the first line of dunes. This means plenty of sun and sea, and plenty of room for everyone. The nearby pines provide shade and natural aromatherapy for sunbathers, and the comparatively low salinity (5.5 per mille, or 0.55%) of the Baltic Sea decreases their need to search for a shower after every swim. The water becomes deeper very gradually and evenly, almost meditatively, allowing one to wade towards the horizon for almost a hundred metres in some places...to the accompaniment of splashing footsteps and the mild breeze.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Jomas Street, Jurmala Latvia

Jomas street - one of the oldest and central streets of Jūrmala with restaurants, summer terraces, hotels and cafés with live music. The name of the street in Latvian means parallel lines in the sand of dunes. Nowadays there is a tradition to celebrate the first Jūrmala’s pedestrian street - Jomas street festival.

The fresh air in the National Park was amazing! It was also a new experience to walk though a bog and to witness the changes in plant life, water, and birds on that ecosystem. Jurmala was a complete bit nice contrast to the National Park in the sense that this town is of careful human creation ra...
