At 35 kilometers from San Pedro de Atacama and 3475 meters above sea level, embedded in a large broken stone, is the Termas de Puritama. Puritama hot springs is a series of eight large pools of geothermal spring water located at the bottom of a canyon in the Atacama Desert. The name Puritama in indigenous language means hot waters. The water has medicinal and therapeutic properties as it draws minerals that brings the Puritama springs.
Its waters are considered thermal waters and has components of meso-thermal sodium-sulfur water is filled with potassium, lithium, calcium, magnesium, chlorine, sulfates and boron, and when you immerse yourself in the water, those elements are thought to help to stimulate your circulatory and digestive systems and revitalize your skin.

Then simply enjoy the pools at your leisure; you have about two hours here before returning to town. The hot springs were fantastic, and our guide was just as great. The bus ride was treacherous -- very glad I didn't have to drive this myself! NOTE TO VIATOR AND OTHER TRAVELERS: there is NO FOOD at this location! My ticket said that there would be a kiosk with snacks and drinks for sale, so we didn't bring anything to eat. Our guide had been doing this tour for five years and said there has never been any food there for sale. Please update your records for others!
Es un lugar muy bello, te relajas un montón y te llenas de energía. Las 8 piscinas son muy buenas, para mi la mejor fue la última por que era la más tibia. Recomendaría tener más baños y vestidores.
