We were mugged on a train in Paris North. Thieves were captured on camera, but train station staff or police were not interested to assist us. The muggers shoved us around, tried to push one of us us out of the train while another one opened a backpack and took passports cellphone, and all outr Euro's. This left us strànded in Paris while we had to apply for emergency visas. Embassy personnel were very helpful and friendly to assist us with emergency visas and also warned us that Paris is not safe at all for tourists who are not part of organized tours. We travelled Holland and Belgium with no issues/ incidents and will go back there any day. France is grossly overrated. Even the Eiffel tower and other tourist attractions is not at all as exiting as the travel agencies portray them to be. Some of the the UBER drivers were dishonest, aggressive and unreliable whilst others really treated us well.
