What a great time we had at the Wang Theatre! The "Behind the Scenes Tour" was very well guided by Scott, who shared greatly all about the history of this magnificent theatre! We had an enjoyable experience visiting and learning about such an amazing historical place.

I've been to the Wang several times for performances and have always admired the beauty of the place. After hearing about the public/private tours being offered, the history nerd in me couldn't resist. What an experience! I ended up being the only person there, and Scott Towers was kind enough to tailor the tour to my interests. I was able to learn about and see absolutely everything, from the "cooling room" (fascinating alternative to A/C back in the day) to all of the dressing rooms (which Darius Rucker and Frankie Valli used just before my tour). Some of the cool things Scott pointed out along the way: info about the Wangs, an upcoming memorabilia museum, certain signatures on the walls under the stage, quirky requests from some of the performers, the ghost light tradition, the insane pulley system for the curtains, and a certain face in the ceiling murals. I can't recommend it enough!I love the theater its beautiful, everything you dream, the entire experience was amazing. Is a great experience for a person who loves history and art.

The tour was interesting, the tour guide was great, and the theater is wonderfully restored ... easy to appreciate without the crowds of an event. The sculptured busts of music greats and the Americana Hall of Fame was great too. Given the tour was promoted/titled as a Backstage Tour and that we would be able to look out from the stage - we were disappointed that we did not actually get to go up on the stage nor even see the back stage area from the side... closest we got was the first row. I was all set to imagine myself a rock star ... didn't happen :-(
