What to expect
Over the course of 2 hours I will tell you part of the history of Portuguese Azulejo, how it became so important for us, who influenced us, which colors are most used, the most visited attractions. In this wonderful experience you will also paint a tile that you will take with you at the end. Using a technique developed by me, it is possible to lift the tile 2H after the workshop ends.

Wow, this workshop was an incredible experience! I booked it last minute the night before, since heavy rains were forecasted for Porto and I wanted an indoor activity, and I'm so happy I participated! It started with a half hour lecture on Portugese tiles, which was very interesting and informative. Daniela is a wonderful, knowledgeable teacher, and you can tell she is passionate about her craft! After learning about Portugese tiles, the workshop portion began. Don't worry, you don't need any artistic skills to participate in this workshop and create a beautiful tile keepsake! Daniela has dozens of beautiful templates to choose from, many of which are templates of genuine tiles that are located somewhere in Porto. Daniela even shares the location of the tiles with you, so that you can go see them yourself if you wish! You are welcome to paint your tile with the traditional blue and white colour combo or you could also choose from a variety of other colours, so I selected colours that would go with the interior of my home. You can also let your creativity run free by creating your own design, and Daniela will provide guidance if you need it. Daniela was a wonderful and patient instructor, who gave us plenty of tips on the proper technique to make a beautiful tile! It was so fun and relaxing to leisurely paint my tile, while sipping port and chatting with other lovely workshop participants from all over the world! Conveniently, Daniela uses a special technique she has developed in which tiles are fired and ready to be picked up in only one hour, which is extremely convenient for time-pressed travelers. I am so happy with my finished tile! I will proudly hang it in my home, and treasure it always, as a beautiful reminder of my amazing time in Porto! I highly recommend this workshop.
