What to expect
The tour departs from Urangan Harbour, passing Round Island, the Urangan Jetty, Big Woody Island. Some information on the history of the area is given by the skipper. Whales are usually sighted at least 30 minutes after departure while in the Platypus Bay Area, inside Fraser Island(K'gari).
The tour often follows much of the Western Beaches of K'gari. It may be possible to witness many different whale behaviours as well as listening to whalesong through the hydrophone. Other marine animals, such as dolphins, turtles and sea birds may be observed as well. Guests will be offered morning tea, buffet lunch and afternoon tea during the tour.

What a day. A friend who goes yearly recommended we come up and experience the whales. How could we say no. We booked with Freedom III Whale Watch Fishing & Dive charters and we were not disappointed. A great boat, with lots of room and very comfy picked us up at the dock. The captain was very knowledgable, pointing out sites on the way and then telling us all about the whales and finding loads for us across the day. What a magical experience to see these huge animals in their natural environment. Tale slaps, breaches, fins, we saw it all. We even saw a huge school of fish circling! Lots of wildlife on the way there and back as well. The food on the boat was seriously next level. We were so well fed and it was so well organised. Thanks for an amazing day out team.
