After making plans to go to Marrakesh (Now almost a year ago) i remembered seeing the episode of my favorite Food and Travel reporter Phil Rosenthal on Marrakesh. Google brought me to the one and only Moroccan Food Adventures. We were excited to go and experience it all. And then the earthquake happened the news items showed us what we and the whole world thought was a Marrakesh in rubles. Amanda and her team quickly became our most reliable source of information. "Not all is fine but most is good." (As you can see in the photos.) Man were glad we listened to you. I think more then ten random people just thanked us for coming to Marrakesh. We did two tours: The Evening Street Food Tour. Hassan led us to some places we would never have found or would never have entered (dumb dutchies) and we were served food we would have never have ordered. Next time we know where to go and wat to order. The private Marrakesh Medina Tour Mohammed took us through the Medina and again we would probably never have found the places he showed us. Ending the tour in another restaurant we would have never entered. Both guides were great, spoke very good English, were super friendly and made the experience. Our tour guide Hanan was charming and took us to some really authentic eating experiences through the narrow lanes of Marrakech. A mix of different dishes and drinks. All in all, we went to 11 different places. More than just a food tour, a real tour of the back streets of Marrakech.

Our tour guide was Mohammed. Super nice guy but not a great tour guide IMO. He did manage to get us to all the stops but did not add much in terms of information regarding the food or culture of Marrakech. The tour itself was a little odd. Our first top was at a place serving tagine and Mechoui (not sure on the spelling of those). Great spot but super protein heavy. Our first stop felt like it should have been one of the last. Kind of felt like we got served the main dish first. The order of stops was random. All in all, the food was tasty. Weird order of stops but good number of bites. Tour guide was kind of a bust. 3/5 is kind of generous but reasonable.Atman gave us a truly unforgettable experience. From the Szfinge to the shops, we had never seen Marrakech like that before. Atman gave us a truly unforgettable experience. From the Szfinge to the shops, we had never seen Marrakech like that before. He showed us some amazing shops in the Souks that we would have never found otherwise and that we have their card for when we come back to Marrakech. He was able to lead us through the inner Souks where the artisans were at work and got my wife everything she was looking for. All of the food was amazing and did not make us sick so it is safe for tourists just arriving in Morocco. In addition, Atman was amazing company telling us stories about growing up in Marrakech and really felt like we were walking around the city with a friend. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in the artisan and food culture of Marrakech. The street food tour is a must do activity while in Marrakech! The Marrakech Artisan Day Tour was a great experience, mostly because of our guide, Noura. Her friendly and considerate nature, coupled with her knowledge, enhanced our tour. Noura's welcoming demeanor immediately put us at ease, and her passion for Marrakech's artisan traditions shone through as she shared facts about the culture and history of Marrakech. She even helped us prepare a traditional workman's lunch, called a 'tanjia', which was a highlight of our time in Marrakesh. We highly recommend the Marrakech Artisan Day Tour, especially with Noura as your guide. You can expect a memorable and immersive experience that will leave you with a deep appreciation for Marrakech's vibrant artisan culture.
