Stop At: Elkmont Ghost Town, Elkmont Road, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN
We'll hike along one of the mightiest rivers in Great Smoky Mountains National Park as we learn about the history of the founding of the park and how the lives of loggers, CCC workers, pioneer farmers, and the earliest mountain recreational visitors intersected.

Stop At: Newfound Gap Road, Between Sugarlands and Oconoluftee 13.2 MIles from Sugarlands Visitor Center is the state line marker overlook, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN
Newfound Gap Road is one of the most scenic drives in the southeast. We'll make the 13-mile long drive out of the Sugarlands Valley while we learn about the people, plants, animals, and history of the Great Smoky Mountains. Along the way we'll stop at several scenic overlooks for photos of the towering mountains and dark, shaded valleys.

Deep in the mountains at a height of more than 5, 000 feet we'll stand on the state line while looking down the the Sugarland Valley to our north and the Oconaluftee Valley to the south. The famous 2, 200 mile-long Appalachian Trail passes through this point next to the stone stage where President Franklin Roosevelt gave the Great Smoky Mountain National Park dedication.

My family and I booked the Classic over the MLK holiday. Kindel reached out the day before and coordinated the place and time to meet. She was right on time! Many roads were closed due to weather and snow but she made it happen! We even got to hike up one of her special places to get an amazing view of the mountains! Kindel was kind and very engaging! Her outlook on life and nature was special and made us all feel like family. We look to come back and hike and want to be sure Kindel is our guide.Fantastic trip! Five couples and everyone agreed it was a 12 out of 10 experience. Kindle was amazing!! She’s not only an excellent driver, she shared lots of history as we experienced Cades Cove. She went out her way to make sure we were comfortable.

We went to a lot of places we would’ve have found on our own, took breathtaking pictures, learned a lot and our 6 year also had a blast. Our guide Kindel is the best! She is so sweet and so knowledgeable and she made our daughter feel so special. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
