Our Taster Surfing Lessons are aimed at total beginners and will introduce you to this super-cool and fun sport, teaching you the basics from beach safety to stand up surfing. Our Newquay Surf School is the only place to learn.

What to expect
ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN TO SURF?
Have you always dreamed of learning to surf? Or maybe you’re interested in what all the fuss is about with this surfing malarkey. Well look no further, visit our Newquay Surf School and prepare to get truly addicted! Here at the Newquay Activity Centre we offer an exhilarating Taster lesson aimed at first time surfers of all ages and abilities.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Our Taster Surfing Lessons introduce you to this super-cool and fun sport, teaching you the basics from beach safety to stand up surfing. You’ll get suited up in toasty-warm Rip Curl wetsuits and ID vests in our heated changing rooms. We also have safety lockers to store your clothes and valuables before heading down to Great Western or Fistral Beach. We use quality Swell foam surfboards for our Taster Surfing Lessons as they offer the most stable platform on which to learn.

I had 3 surf lessons in April '23, I had Harry on the first day, he was patient and understanding, he wants you to get on that board as much as you do! He explains in detail how and why he teaches you the techniques and tips for that all important moment surfing towards the beach.He looks at all angles and guides you through mistakes and alternative pop ups to suit your style. 2nd lesson with James had 4 of us in a group session, with great detail to each pupil, also helping with tips and useful instructions and tips. 3rd lesson back with Harry again very patient all came together and heading towards the beach quiet a few time with confidence thanks to Harry & James 100% recommend this surf school and Instructors!!Jen and Beth loved their lesson with Poppy and Lance! They were so friendly, happy and gave top tips! Thank you so much Poppy for taking amazing pics! We can’t wait to go surfing again.

We have done two surf lessons in Newquay over the last couple of years and think this is genuinely one of the best and most fun things you can do together as a family.
