Taste of Korcula by Bike Tour (food & drink tasting)
Overview
Heading away from Korcula Town towards Lumbarda by bike, your first stop comes after no more than 15 minutes. You will meet one of the region’s top honey producers and learn how honey gets from the beehives to the jars, followed by honey tasting.
Back on your bike, you will take to picturesque country trails passing olive groves and vineyards before finding yourself at a top Grk producing winery. Take a seat and enjoy several island produced wines, accompanied by delicious, regional snacks.
Your final stop is a short pedal away and takes you to the home of our friend Ivan. Here you will see where their fruits are grown before trying their award-winning jam selection, along with homemade liquors, wine, sweet treats and olive oil. This taste extravaganza is topped off with pancakes filled with jam, before you will be transferred back to Korcula by van.

We contacted Korcula Explorer about their Taste of Korcula by bike tour having done a similar tour in Vietnam and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We asked them to put on an additional date since the tour was not available during our short stay in Korcula and they readily obliged. Really flexible and helpful! My advice would be to contact them if the tour you want isn’t shown in their website - this is a great experience not to be missed! We had a wonderful afternoon on bike exploring are area around Korcula, getting away from the crowds, meeting local producers, sampling new tastes and flavours from liqueurs, jams, cheese, meats, olive oil, fig wine vinegar (which is amazing) and of course local wine. Our guide Rachel was very knowledgable and went out of her way to do whatever was required to ensure we had a wonderful time, including meeting us in the town the next day with our purchases so that we did not have to carry them back by bike. Fantastic authentic Korcula experience and the highlight of our stay on the island. We had such a fabulous time with John our host. We had such a fabulous time with John our host. The cycling and scenery were great and we had such a good insight into the real Korcula and its people. Bee man was brilliant ( Lisa pretty much fell in love with him 😀 ) as was the information that he gave. Best ever marmalade plus how the word came into being - brilliant ! The wine at Bire’s was delicious , especially that first glass of sparkling Rose , could have sat there and supped a bottle of that ! Being invited into Ivan’s home and little world was delightful. He is a lovely man , full of life and very contagious - especially after sampling the liqueurs! A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and evening with an enthusiastic and informative host.
