With an impressive 1500 acres of virgin protected mangrove forest is home to nearly 175 varieties of birds including 1 endemic hummingbird found in only 3 places in the world, all of them are in Costa Rica and the Tamarindo estuary is one of them!

I recently went on and estuary tour with Christian who was the most knowledgeable tour guide I have ever met. I brought my friends and family to the river mouth where we were greeted with cold drinks on the nicest boat in the river. We saw a plethora of crocodiles, monkeys, beautiful birds, and other wildlife. Chris could spot the nose of a crocodile from across the river and made sure we saw everything too. He made sure we were all comfortable and safe throughout the tour and taught us about the Costa Rican estuary in perfect English with a huge smile. He was charismatic, helpful, resourceful and we had such great conversations about the country, the area, etc. Tamarindo is beautiful. During the tour, we saw crocodiles, monkeys, tons of birds and learning about CR and its resources was something we were hoping for. Overall amazing tour and would definitely look up Christian again in my next visit. Pura Vida!
