Stop At: Gansett Cruises, 2 Bowens Lndg, Newport, RI 02840-3000
Break away from the typical harbor boat tour and take a quiet, relaxing, and delightful cruise of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay's East Passage aboard a traditionally restored 50-foot lobster boat. Watch the sun set in a comfortably cushioned and shaded deck, or from the top 'sunny side' deck. The guides, many of whom grew up on these waters, are enthused to share the legends and rich history of their home port.
On every cruise, there's something special and complimentary from the galley that is representative of Rhode Island cuisine and culture. Guests on board discover the true flavor of The Ocean State, all compliments of the Captain. Sunset cruisers will enjoy a quahog "stuffie" and champagne to toast their relaxing evening on the water. The cash bar on board serves a selection of Narragansett Beer, Newport Vineyard white wines, and other Rhode Island signature drinks.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

It was the perfect amount of time on the water to enjoy the magnificent views of the shoreline! Plenty of interesting stories of the history of the area.

Our guide was a great story teller and really funny, which made the tour a blast. I also have to also give credit to the captain of the boat for handling his vessel so smoothly on a rough and windy day.

The narrator was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Loved the energy on board but at the same time appreciated that the music when playing was not loud or rock music. I've been on some cruises where I felt the music took away from the experience, but I acknowledge I'm sensitive about that. The captain provided a calm ride and I enjoyed the "Stuffie" which I had never had belfore. That with the champagne toast capped a wonderful experience. We've been on the Gunsett boat 3 or 4 times over the last 10 years. We've been on the Gunsett boat 3 or 4 times over the last 10 years. Storytelling and local historical facts used to be more entertaining and informative. Maybe it was the last tour on a Sunday evening and the crew members were tired. Stuffed quahogs were served a bit undercooked. Gratuity fee was charged automatically at booking, before the trip, and then they have a boot for tips after the trip again, which seems excessive. Scenery is beautiful, and it is a wonderful experience, but Gunsett cruise should try harder in the service department. The boat was very comfortable the staff was outstandingly accommodating and the views were breathtaking. I would definitely recommend this cruise to both locals and visitors to the area
