We were told only after we bought non refundable tickets the the glass bottom boat was “out of commission “ we had been on a regular boat tour the day before and we’re so looking forward to the glass bottom boat which didn’t happen. We were very disappointed…the stop at the lighthouse was very nice! Got to experience bring on one of the 1000 islands!I highly recommend this tour! Found it to be relaxing, scenic and offered a good history about the islands along the way. This is a good tour for all ages. I highly recommend this tour! Found it to be relaxing, scenic and offered a good history about the islands along the way. This is a good tour for all ages. When we arrived at the island, we were greeted by the park ranger who gave a brief overview before we departed from the boat. Definitely take the ranger-guided tour inside the lighthouse going to the top using the spiral staircase. Nice views from there and historical insight. Ships pass by, nice photos from the island. The rest of the island is self-guided. Lighthouse has an impressive history. Many shipwrecks occurred near this island. The crew was very attentive to everyone, friendly and informative, At the marina, there is a snack truck (burgers, wraps, etc.) and restrooms.Loved going up inside the lighthouse & listening to the history of Rock Island and the lighthouse. Enjoyed a beautiful boat ride on the St. Lawrence !

Great time on the glass bottom boat tour and the light house. Captain Matt and Matt were very knowledgeable and friendly -gave a great tour! The lighthouse was amazing! Small group to tour made the experience great! The lighthouse tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable! Really enjoyed going up the lighthouse and all he taught us. He did a great job answering ALL our questions. Stairs are steep, but fairly easy to navigate and I'm 8 mos post ACL tear and then patella fracture. Fun little scavenger hunt for the kids! Our kids are 7 and 13 and enjoyed it, might be harder with Littles under 3 to climb the ladder part at the top of the lighthouse.I might be a little bit biased as someone who lives in the Clayton area, but I think both Captain Joe and the tour guide were great. If you don’t know our area I would say that this tour is a good place to start. Not to mention because of the glass bottom in the center you can see things underwat...

If you don’t know our area I would say that this tour is a good place to start. Not to mention because of the glass bottom in the center you can see things underwater that you normally wouldn’t on other tours. The staff at Rock Island was friendly too and they knew a lot about the history of the lighthouse and island itself. We toured the St Lawrence River on the Night Heron, a glass bottom boat. We toured the St Lawrence River on the Night Heron, a glass bottom boat. Enjoyed the stop at Rock Island Lighthouse, with the opportunity to climb to the top. Our guide Liam was knowledgeable and personable and did a good job of narrating the entertaining stories relevant to the islands we passed. All in all, a fun way to spend a few hours on the water!
