Squamish Discovery Eco-tour
Overview
Guests will get a chance to see coastal temperate rainforests, salmon spawning habitat, mountains, ancient volcanoes, Howe Sound (the southernmost fjord in North America) and the Squamish River estuary - all in 2-3 hours! Squamish is where the mountains collide with the ocean and is as beautiful as it is diverse.
This tour is for everyone. You do not have to be superfit or an experienced biker. Just have a love for adventure and beautiful places!

What to expect
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Squamish Estuary, Squamish, British Columbia Canada
Estuaries occur where coastal rivers enter the sea, creating a mix of fresh and saltwater habitats. These habitats change with each tide. During flood tide, ocean water pulses into the estuary and up the lower reaches of the river. At ebb, fresh water pours into the estuary basin, pushing a wedge of lighter fresh water and riverborne sediments into the estuary.
Why is an estuary important?
Protected inner waters of estuaries, laden with sediment, form the richest of coastal environments. Their productivity far exceeds that of either the finest agricultural land or the open ocean.
80% of the Fraser Estuary has been lost, altered/developed. 50% of the Squamish estuary has been lost, altered/developed. Estuaries are a scarce resource, less than 3% of BC's coastline.

We had the pleasure of touring Squamish with my family this spring. Brent was our guide at Blazing Saddles Squamish for the two hour+ e-bike tour. Incredible afternoon escape with our family and a taste of the outdoors. Brent was extremely knowledgeable of Squamish and the inspiring terrain, wildlife and history. Our 3 kids (8 ,11, 13) loved the scenery, trails and stories ! Our favorite part of the trip were the trails through the coastal rain forest along the Squamish estuary were our kids searched the ocean horizon for a potential glimpse of Orcas spotted in the Howe Sound earlier that day. We loved everything about the tour from the guide, trails, amazing countryside and scenic mountain tops. My family of 5 had an amazing afternoon touring Squamish with Blazing Saddles. Our guide Brent was not only full of knowledge for my wife and I who have lived in Squamish for 14 years, but hilarious too! We rode trails we didn’t know existed and saw parts of Squamish that were hidden gems. The riding abilities of our kids (15,13,11) range from expert to novice and everyone was comfortable with the brand new ebikes. We would like to have included my wife’s 75 year old Mother as she would have easily kept up and enjoyed a family activity that was safe, accessible to all and most importantly right now, perfect for social distancing. Thank you Brent and Blazing Saddles for a great afternoon. We will be recommending this to all of our visitors and our local friends to experience!The bike tour was amazing! The bike tour was amazing! Brent was an excellent, friendly, knowledgeable guide. It was my girlfriends first taste of off road biking, Brent took us around some nice trails, nothing gnarly, but a perfect mix of scenic single track with stop offs for excellent views. The high spec E-bikes rode like a dream and made any minor uphills easy to conquer, and allowed us to cover a fair distance. We saw lots of wildlife, but unfortunately no bears this time.
