Hike through swedish winter wonderland using snowshoes on this adventure from Stockholm. See snow-covered trees, wildlige tracks in the snow, and frozen lakes just minutes from the city center, and discover beautiful environments along the way. The guide will pass on his knowledge about the nature, navigation through the forest, bushcraft skills. He'll teach you how to start a fire from scratch using a flint.

After gearing up at our base camp, we'll drive together to the nicest hiking area (National Park or Nature Reserve) around Stockholm (will depend on snow conditions). After an easy brief on how to use snowshoes, bincos and how to behave in the forest, we'll hike for a few hours through magical swedish landscapes at an easy tempo. The guide will teach you about swedish flora and fauna, introduce you to bushcrafting and navigating. Together we'll build and light an and we''ll eat a warm lunch that we have prepared. At the end of the day, we'll drive back to our base camp, filled with positiv natural energy.

Additional information

  • It’s an active excursion so don't dress too warm, but bring an extra layer for when standing still! It's best to have clothing that dries up quickly, so avoid cotton if possible! Wool and polyester (often seen in sport specific clothing) are best. Dressing in many layers is recommended over having one thick layer. This provides better insulation and it's easier to take off one layer when you're too warm.
  • Please remember that the weather conditions are out of our control, and there is no snow guarantee. However last winter season (January - March 2020) we only had one excursion without snow!
  • This is a winter hiking excursion. If the snow level demands the use of snowshoes we will use these. Otherwise we use ice grip cleats under our boots.
  • Not wheelchair accessible

Lucy and I did a mini break in Stockholm for 3 nights/4 days. As well as the City and the museums (Vasa, Nobel, ABBA, etc) we wanted to take in some Swedish culture, food AND nature! Given the Tyresta National Park is less than 30 mins away by car - it seemed obvious. So, we had a full day of hik...
