Snorkeling and Freediving Trip around Nusa Penida
Overview
The first one is the closest and most of the snorkeling trips are going there. Usually, it is very chaotic and messy, there are a lot of people and boats.
The further spot is Manta Point. It’s a much longer journey but you might get more chances to see mantas and fewer people.
Manta Point is much more recommended and this is what we offer in our trips.
The trip is guided by professional freediving instructors!
On this half-day trip, we will bring you to 3 different and very attractive snorkeling points near Nusa Penida.
Point #1. Manta Point
Freeding and snorkeling with Manta Rays. Manta Rays can usually be seen right from the surface.
Point #2. Gamat Bay or Toyapakeh Wall
Coral gardens at shallow depths between 2-5 meters or drift along underwater wall.
Point #3. SD Point
Relaxed drifting along colorful corals. High chance to see turtles.

What to expect
We meet at the school (Freedive Nusa on Google Maps) at 7:30 am, give you all the
equipment (including wetsuits and long fins if needed), and provide a detailed
briefing about manta rays, organization aspects, and safety.
Then a boat will pick us up right from the school at 8 am.
Our professional freediving instructors will be on the boat as in-water guides.
We will visit Manta Point, Toyapakeh Wall, SD Point.
In case will be no mantas in Manta Point we can visit Manta Bay on the way back as well.
The route might be adjusted to weather conditions.
Please, understand this is wild nature and nobody can promise you to see manta rays. Our crew and instructors always do their best to find mantas but we definitely can't guarantee them.
Also, please, be mindful that the water might be very choppy! We recommend having a very light breakfast and taking a seasickness tablet in the morning (we will provide it).
You should feel confident enough to swim in the open ocean affected by swell and waves.
We have safety boxes, therefore you can leave some of your belongings there.
After the trip, you can take a hot shower and use towels.

I paid 400K for the snorkelling however they "sold" me to anther carrier (Nusa Penida Explorer) which charges less than what I paid. Nusa Penida Explorer crews are local English speaking people, friendly and accommodating. You have to go to the meeting point to pick up the wetsuits and then to drive to the port to get picked up by the actual provider. If you are not a freediver, you can just get a snorkelling tour from the harbour, as you either way go with the same boat. In the tour there were 4 snorkelling spots, while we were snorkelling only in 3 places.
