What to expect
Everything you need to snorkel safely and comfortably in our waters is included. We provide roundtrip transportation from the downtown cruise ship docks. All guests are outfitted with full 7mm Harvey’s or SCUBAPRO wetsuits, hoods, boots and gloves. We provide top of the line Tusa & SCUBAPRO masks and Twin Jet fins. Prescription masks and optional weight belts for free diving are also available. You will receive complete instruction, in water supervision and a one hour guided marine life tour conducted by our experienced guides. Beginners are always welcome! Hot beverages and water are also included. This tour is rated as most strenuous due to the tight fitting nature of the wetsuit. You enter the water from a rocky beach and snorkel where currents may be present. One should be reasonably physically fit and not have any mobility issues.

- Travelers should have a strong physical fitness level
- Not recommended for the severely obese or persons with limited mobility. We snorkel from a rocky beach so entries and exits are difficult at best.
- Anyone with a history of past or present heart conditions, respiratory disorders or history of seizures or fainting will not be permitted to snorkel. No refunds will be given the day of the tour for a medical disqualification.
- Participants must weigh between 80 and 260 pounds for proper wetsuit fit.
- Suggested maximum age is 70 due to the strenuous nature of snorkeling in Alaska
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 10 travelers

What a great experience, from start to finish! We never dreamed that snorkeling in Alaska would be so much fun….and warm! Fred and Kurt made the entire experience simply amazing. So many tours have no clue about good customer service, but these guys get it. From the instructions on the way to the snorkel shop, to the informative and entertaining marine life tour, everything was perfect. They have weight belts if you want to try going deep, but if you don’t, they bring some of the sea life up for a closer look. The wetsuits really make you float, so it’s great for beginners. Equipment was top-notch and we never once felt cold. If you’re going to Ketchikan, look these guys up. It’s definitely a memory maker!!My wife and I took this trip while on a cruise. My wife wasn't too sure at first, but she really enjoyed the trip. We have snorkeled all over the Caribbean, but Snorkel Alaska was definitely at the top our our travel. Do not miss it if you are in Ketchikan! (Although this trip was September 2018 Trip Advisor only allowed me to list 2021. We have joined with Snorkel Alaska several times with my scouts from Washington state. Has always been one of of top favorites while visiting Alaska. A great team to work with, lots of knowledge and always fun! I always get a funny look when I tell the scouts, and families, they we are going to snorkel in Alaska. Afterwards, all smiles.This was an awesome experience! The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The wet suits were pretty comfortable and kept me warm in the water. I will say that getting to the beach and over the rocks is more difficult than I thought it would be, but so worth it. Do this, you won't regret it.

When Fred (the owner) came out with flip flops and a warm smile in the pouring rain, we knew were going to have a great time! Fred and Kurt were down to earth and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and sea floor. They both have a ton of experience, so we knew we were in great hands the whole time. I cannot recommend this trip enough!! Especially if you are looking for something a little more adventurous than the normal excursions offered around. Thank you Fred and Kurt for an amazing day!!Awesome trip! Snorkeling in Alaska we saw and held various starfish, jellyfish, sea urchins & sea cucumbers. We saw fish, bald eagles and an Orca whale! This was fun, different and the staff went out of their way big-time to b helpful. I can't recommend this enough!!
