Our tour was perfectly planned from start to finish. Our guide, Brian, was very friendly and most attentive to all our needs. The long journey there and back passed very quickly as relevant documentaries and movies were shown. Brian' enthusiasm and enjoyment of his work was infectious. The tour group was small and friendly. As for the scenery- it was spectacular, as expected. We had plenty of time to explore on our own. Telescopes and binoculars were supplied to view the climbers on El Capitan. Water was provided. Rest breaks were well timed. All in all, a really excellent day out, well worth the effort. We went on the trip with Brian, who is an extraordinary guide and a very pleasant person to be with. We went on the trip with Brian, who is an extraordinary guide and a very pleasant person to be with. We started the drive very early because there was supposed to be a strike which would shut the entry to national parks down. Although that didn’t happen, we gained an extra hour of light and we had a smooth entry to the site. Yosemite is beautiful, very much worth the visit and the drive from SF. Brian drove, showed us videos and photos he took himself, supplied us with binoculars and telescopes to watch people climb El Capitan. Brian made the whole trip so much better and made an amazing effort to maximise every moment. We’ve been in Yosemite for about half a day net, and drove about 4 hours each way to get there and return. At the end of the trip we went to see the giant sequoias, which are beautiful, but note that it’s not the forest of sequoias you might think it is (not the one with the General Sherman), this one is a few hours away. All in all, very high return of investment on this trip, and you MUST ask for Brian to guide your tour!
