What to expect
Surfers will meet at our surf shop for a brief safety and land demonstration. Then its off to the water where they will practice surfing gentle waves!

My adult and teenage kids and myself all had a great time and felt very comfortable in the water and on the boards. Instructors were patient, kind, and supportive with all of us. You need to be in reasonably good shape to enjoy this experience....
This was our 2nd surf lesson. The last one was 2017. My adult and teenage kids and myself all had a great time and felt very comfortable in the water and on the boards. Instructors were patient, kind, and supportive with all of us. You need to be in reasonably good shape to enjoy this experience. It takes a lot of energy to paddle out over and over for 2.5 hours! And expect to be a bit sore the next day. Besides the board, rash guards and water shoes are also available and included in your lesson fee. Sunscreen is available for purchase, in case you forget! Maybe one thing that could make this better would be Gopro mounts on the boards. Unfortunately, the boards don't have those. These boards were a foam type which was good for beginners. They also have hard boards available if you are a more advanced level.My 11 year old has been dreaming of this day since she found out we were coming to Hawai’i and it did not disappoint. My 11 year old has been dreaming of this day since she found out we were coming to Hawai’i and it did not disappoint. The instructors were fun, knowledgeable, and supportive and she had a blast out there riding the waves on her first time surfing. There were several surf schools out in this same area but I think the quality of instruction she received was superior to what I overheard from the others. Highly recommended!My fiancé and I had surfing lessons with Rory and Mar. they both were so friendly and super fun and excellent teachers!! This experience was so much fun and we caught so many waves! Rory and Mar made it so easy and so much fun!! Highly recommend!! Will definitely do this again in the future!!!

My hubby and I did the 2 hour surf lesson with Mar as our instructor. We had a wonderful time and had so much fun on the waves. Mar was friendly, professional, and a good teacher. We were able to get a hang of standing up on the board pretty quickly. The waters are shallow with reef on the seafloor, so it’s important to follow their directions on how to jump off of the board safely to avoid getting hurt. Would definitely recommend this highly to first time surfers! Parking is on the street or there is a beach parking lot across the street a couple of blocks down. Pretty easy. Overall we had an awesome time catching some waves :)
