Roger our very knowledgeable driver/guide picked my Canadian father and I up precisely at nine am. Upon meeting, we were told our tour guidelines were changed to include the turtle release. While we not expecting this, we were open to adding the extra time of going to the turtle release sanctuary as an American client lodged out in the Diamente Zone had purchased a tour that included turtle release. This took place at a very beautiful beach that had a roped off area where I chose to also release a baby turtle for a donation of 50 pesos. Along the way to do this we picked up Jose another guide who would assist the tour. Jose explains his newly adapted philosophy for the necessity of worldwide humanity through the education of Eco-environments and animal preservation awareness especially related to the Mexican attitude today and its past. As a teacher I enjoy this tour as a truly positive and interestingly educational experience for the majority of the tour. However, parts of our time especially in the B&B silverstore were not as comfortable due to the aggressive sales personnel trying to sell us over priced items in American $$$. We bought nothing even though We both liked something enough to ask how much, we did however tip for the drinks they gave us "free". We continued on to the divers. As the other client had purchased a seat inside the restaurant on a covered balcony we were given the choice to upgrade our tickets here to include a place inside with one drink included or also a meal. Since we understood the other client was taking lunch at another table we opted for a meal too. This upgrade was 300 pesos per person. After ordering we were invited by Jose to join the other client who was seated on the other side of the locale at her request. So we moved to join her. It was at this time things got a bit uncomfortable again. A misunderstanding was smoothed over between the other client and Jose. Finally, we watched 5 divers ascend to the top of the cliff to the dive point. Many boats had gathered to watch the performance of the divers. We were taking pictures and enjoying the spectacle of this incredible feat of bravery. After the divers are finished our lunch of 3 enchiladas arrive, we eat while the guides Jose and Roger rest in a lounge area. Upon exit of the restaurant we were surprised by the 5 speedo wearing divers who were made available for pictures with tourists for tips. For me this should have been articulated before hand as it was unknown to us that divers would be expecting to collect some $$$ from us at this time even though we had already spent 600 pesos plus tip for the waiters service. We were unprepared for this. It was at this time I notice a change in Jose's demeanor and asked if he was ok he said he was hungry and concerned about being a bit late to meet his wife. I understood his position about being behind schedule, we waited in the van for Roger and the other client. When they arrive Jose said he was taking us back to the hotel. But that quickly changed as there were still two things on the tour description that still hadn't been seen. Jose and Roger have a conversation in Spanish about the timing of the tour being off. As we drove up to a view point above the port we were given a description of the place we would visit took in the view with picture taking. Lastly we were to go to view the Diego Rivera Murals , as we drove down a steep hill Roger gave us a very interesting description of the artist and his lifestyle then Jose inexplicably stopped the van while on this steep hill during this explanation by Roger. As the van door did not open and because we were listening intently on Roger's oration of Rivera's life We did not know that the famous mural was on the retaining wall outside of the stopped van until after the van was moving again, so sadly we missed the entire mural. All in all, it was a worthwhile and interesting tour, we had a good experience and the tour guides were good, we especially enjoyed Roger for his patient enthusiasm and articulation in the English language.
