I had a wonderful time on this hike with My Taiwan Tour. Lucy is a fantastic guide with a great attitude and lots of information about life in Taiwan. It's a steep hike, but worth every step to the top--the views of Taipei are amazing! Although the weather was anything but optimal (there was low cloud and some rain) I still had a great time, mostly due to my guide Kylie who was knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and maintained a positive attitude throughout. She was also helpful in navigating the buses needed to reach the destination. It is important to be aware that the bus rides are quite long and the time that you get back to the MRT station will depend on the walking speed, weather, traffic conditions, etc. The walking requires a moderate level of fitness as there is some ascent and descent involved and of course be prepared for all types of weather.... All in all it was a good experience and I would recommend this trip to anyone wishing to escape Taipei for a day to the countryside.The tour took place although we were just two customers. Amy was a great host and let us take our time whenever we wanted. Only the bus rides were a little exhausting/annoying so I'd recommend to bring something to entertain you and a scarf for the AC.

Ralph was pleasant and very knowledgeable about hiking places in Taiwan. I was glad he was there because on the way down, it was rainy & slippery. The view was amazing.

What better way to explore a new place than to climb to the top of a smoking volcano and view it from above!? Our guide Summer had all the Taipei facts and figures at her fingertips and wowed us with her knowledge of history and nature. Not only did we get to see, smell and stand on a volcano for the first time, we learned so much about the wildlife and history of Taipei. The hot spring foot spa on the way down was a delightful bonus for tired feet. It’s a tough hike but great for the thigh muscles. Ten out of ten!
