Pass By: Arni 845 01, Greece
Our hiking tour route starts from the mountainous village of Arni (alt.470 m) with important history back to the 14th century. The "arvanitika" language remains in use in the region today although it is spoken by few. The path runs through fertile ravines, old abandoned farmhouses, crosses the slopes of "Arni", meets forests of oak trees, planes, chestnut and walnut trees, as we descend to Remata.
Pass By: Remata 845 01, Greece
The location of the village Remata is one of the greenest on the island with rich vegetation, running water from the river of Arni. In the green stream old farmhouses, stoned grape mills, threshing floors are hiding, but even stalactites and stalagmites over the river bed. The scenery changes and gets wild with dense low vegetation, as we descend the path towards the beautiful unspoiled beach of Lefka crossing the river surrounded by reeds.
Stop At: Λεύκα, 845 01, Greece
Time to rest and swim. Experience your most enjoyable swim on one of the most pristine beaches on the island where the river Arni flows, creating a unique aqueduct. Enjoy your brunch at the beach.

My daughter (14) and I (53) did three activities this year with One Foot Forward in Andros. The Paleopoli waterfalls via ferrata, the rock climbing lessons at Exo Vouni (Korthi), and the river trekking to Gerolimni. It is very difficult to convey in a review how amazing all these activities were! The guiding team was composed of Ariana (the leader), Alexandros (the climber) and Iosif (the volunteer photographer). These guys do not just take you to a tour or activity, they share a story and an atmosphere with you. But you have to be willing to listen and discover! it is not about "been there done that" and taking a selfie to prove it, it is about experiencing the best that is island has to give: pristine nature, diverse landscape, unimaginable beauty. I have been going to Andros for decades, and we have a house since the early 2000's, and still this year we enjoyed it more than ever because of these guys. The group was very well composed every time, although during the Gerolimni tour it was high season and the number of participants was not negligible. The guidance and instructions were excellent, informative and interesting. We never felt insecure for a moment. All three activities that we did were physically demanding, none of them was just a walk in the park. However Ariana will always try to put together a homogeneous group, and will adapt as necessary. Bottom line, if you want an active holiday that will not feel off-the-shelf, but will be a true experience, any activity with One Foot Forward is not to be missed!MrTiniakos

Hiking the Kouvara (highest peak of Andros) - Alex our guide was absolutely fantastic, his local knowledge kept us informed and entertained the entire time. He told so many tales of the different parts of the island visible on our hike, of the diverse flora and fauna and stories of the many rulers of the island over the years. It would’ve been worth the money just to hear those. He set the pace of the hike but was very considerate of us and made it the best hiking experience possible. If you love amazing views get in touch with One Foot forward and request a Kouvara hike. It was simply fantastic Rock Climbing - I’m trying to be braver in my old age and thought I’d try rock climbing. Ariana booked me in and set the plan in motion, it was very clear and concise. upon arrival I realised I was the only non Greek speaker but that didn’t matter for a second. Ariana made me feel like a VIP. Alex again was the host here and again what a great host he was, calm, informative and professional. As I said, I was very nervous but I will tell you now, I had no need to be, safety was priority number one, closely followed by fun and team spirit. Every single time someone completed a route an applause rang though the valley. It really made me feel feel part of the group. Ariana is also spider-woman appearing randomly on the rocks to get the perfect pictures for your holiday album. If you are interested in rock climbing but a little nervous YOU NEED TO TRY THIS ON ANDROS. You won’t find a better team that Alex and Ariana. A Truly awesome experience.332eirinik

Η μονοήμερη εκδρομή μας εξελίχθηκε σε μια υπέροχη εμπειρία, καθώς απολαύσαμε τη διαδρομή από το πρώτο λεπτό! Περπατήσαμε μέσα στην πανέμορφη φύση της Άνδρου, από το βουνό έως τη θάλασσα. Στην κορυφή του βουνού ακούσαμε το καθαρό νερό να τρέχει, είδαμε μικρό καταρράκτη, ήπιαμε από αυτό το γάργαρο ...
Η μονοήμερη εκδρομή μας εξελίχθηκε σε μια υπέροχη εμπειρία, καθώς απολαύσαμε τη διαδρομή από το πρώτο λεπτό! Περπατήσαμε μέσα στην πανέμορφη φύση της Άνδρου, από το βουνό έως τη θάλασσα. Στην κορυφή του βουνού ακούσαμε το καθαρό νερό να τρέχει, είδαμε μικρό καταρράκτη, ήπιαμε από αυτό το γάργαρο νερό(!), μάθαμε πολλά για την ιστορία και τη λαογραφία του νησιού αλλά και για τα φυτά και τα λουλούδια του! Οι οδηγοί μας, η Αριάννα και ο Θανάσης, είναι πραγματικά καταπληκτικοί! Εκτός από γνώσεις, έχουν πραγματική αγάπη και πάθος για αυτό που κάνουν! Σας ευχαριστούμε🌻Εις το επανιδείν!!!VathisMarios

Nous avions déjà fait quelques randonnées sur l'île d'Andros mais avec une guide rien que pour nous, c'est autre chose ! Ariana est incollable sur l'ile, son histoire, la nature et elle partage ses connaissances avec passion. Elle s'adapte sans problemes à son public et n'a pas hésité à changer...
Nous avions déjà fait quelques randonnées sur l'île d'Andros mais avec une guide rien que pour nous, c'est autre chose ! Ariana est incollable sur l'ile, son histoire, la nature et elle partage ses connaissances avec passion. Elle s'adapte sans problemes à son public et n'a pas hésité à changer un peu la fin du parcours pour nous qui préférions finir à Chora et non sur la plage. Et puis elle parle très très bien français ce qui nous a vraiment permis d'avoir des échanges fluides et profiter des moindres détails! Au delà de sa culture impressionnante, elle est très sympathique, nous a proposé des petits gâteaux et surtout nous a donné des conseils sur nos prochaines activités qui se sont avérés très bons! This was the best day of our holiday. Ariana is an incredible guide: knowledgeable, passionate, thoughtful and charismatic. We learnt so much about the island and its people, but our conversations went far beyond that - a truly life-enhancing experience. Highly recommended.
