When I did this tour we had a really small group, with Tudor as our guide. It was great! A nice group and Tudor knew so much about Romanian history, culture, whatnot... I learned so much! The balea lake and the Transfagarasan road are awesome. Only downside is that because the Fortress is closed, the dam is also not visited, I was looking forward to that, but it made sense and when I brought it up, we discussed going to the dam anyway but collectively decided to skip it because the other route back was nicer. Instead we went to faragas Fortress, which was nice! Definitely recommend. Our guide was Dan..the guy is a complete package. My three friends and I booked a trip to Transfagarasan on 13th of August. The driver picked us up from our hotel and everything was extremely smooth! Usually on our trip in Romania, something always fails - the train breaks down, the bus will be delayed, but this road trip was purely amazing. The driver was awesome and very friendly. He knew all the tips and tricks - when is the best for us to go to Transfagarasan, where to go to eat, he knew a lot of interesting facts about the buildings and sightseeing places we visited. It was a pleasure to travel with him! He was always there for us. He didn't rush us, we got the chance to discover as long as we wanted. Moreover, the minivan was very comfortable! I already have recommended this trip to my friends and I will do that in the future as well. The price is 140% worth the experience we got. Thank you for one of the most amazing days we have had here in Romania!Private tour with a great tour guide Tudor.
