I really, really enjoyed this amazing cultural Tour in Maun. To see a town in Botswana, that usual only has people arriving and leaving at the airport, with no idea of what is happening - is such a good idea! I enjoyed walking through the stalls/stands ( market) visiting artist’s on the road, meeting local people with great ideas (Mia Kushunya and her weaving project) and of course being able to eat the local food (= that was exceptional good!) at the Acacia Café. And always being accompanied by a very knowledgable and happy team! Kealeboga!Maun Experience was a great surprise ! An authentic cultural tour with a great guide. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Thato and our driver were such fun to be with. It was very interesting to learn about the basket weaving (we were useless t it). We also had a wander round the market, which was great fun. It was a boiling hot day, but we didn’t do too much out in the sun. Water was provided, a nd the highlight was a lovely meal served in a local cafe. It was delicious, and was served by a charming young lady. At no time did we feel hurried, pressured or uninvited. I thoroughly recommend doing this fun tour. We learnt a lot. What a fantastic and unique experience! As if I had never been to Maun in my life before - I actually visited a couple of times in the past - handpicked places visited that all used to seem so ' normal' but with the background and the personal encounters these special places and spaces all of a sudden became magic: meeting people and handcrafters at the local market, listen to the Bridge story at Sports Bar. Ref arts: spectacular (from the tough business lady at the weaver shop, to the street art at the local carwash, that practically combines with resident hairdressers, an EPIC space. Lunch at the end at the lovely museum site, at Akacia Restaurant, absolutely delicious, what a fine tasting of authentic local food, superb presentation, good vibes - all in all the guides are the keys and the team oozed enthusiasm and knowledge, infectious from the beginning to the end when you ask yourself why have you never moved to this place with this cool evolving scene in the middle of the beautiful wilderness of BotswanaThe Safari is so much more enhanced when you have the opportunity to get a glimpse into the local culture the Maun Immersive Tour provides.
