You'll start your day driving out to Cajun Country, where you'll go through wild cypress swamps, over the Mississippi River on an impressive suspended bridge, and along vast sugarcane fields, as the guide tells a unique story of the odyssey of the Cajun people.
Next take a thrilling high-speed airboat ride as you comfortably glide over marshes and into deep, secluded bayous. Your Cajun guide, also an alligator hunter and fur trapper, will share his knowledge of the swamp including reptile habits, healing plants, and exotic birds. After your ride, explore his picturesque swamp zoo on Bayou Boeuf.

Discover Laura, an 1804 Creole Plantation and learn about Laura's personal family saga. At Laura's Slavery Museum Exhibit, hear personal stories of individual men, women and children who lived there, illustrating how the lives of the enslaved, both Créole and American, were intertwined with those of their owners.

A collection of art, furniture, and antique artifacts help tell the story of plantation life. 38 acres of gardens surround the mansion.

This was by far the best day of our trip to New Orleans. From the second we were picked up at our hotel (right on time) we felt welcomed by our tour guide Renee. He was WONDERFUL!!! He was so funny and so kind he made the van trips a fun experience. He was also so knowledgeable about everything…from the places we passed to the history of the city, he had stories and facts about everything. Our airboat tour was also incredible. We had so much fun with Dalton and he taught us a lot about the land and all the critters in it. Both plantation tours were so interesting, and our guides made the experience out of this world amazing. The grounds were some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and both plantation homes were full of history. The stories told about the slaves and the people that lives in these homes brought tears to my eyes more than once. Tours by Isabell was the best company to work with and they kept me informed with all the detail up to the day before or excursion. This was truly one of the best experiences we could ask for as tourists to the area and I can’t speak highly enough about the company, or guide/driver Renee (SERIOUSLY HE WAS THE BEST) and, our overall experience.Carol32832

We had a wonderful time today with Giselle. We were picked up at our hotel right on time. The van was very nice - especially the air conditioning on a hot day. Giselle gave us great information on the history of Louisiana and the places we were going to visit. The swamp tour was so much fun. There were 8 people on our airboat and we saw so many alligators, even getting the opportunity to hold a young one. After that we travelled to the Laura Plantation for an amazing tour by Pam. Then Giselle drive us to Houmas Plantation for a delicious lunch and another fun tour by Sandy. Very busy, but we got to see and learn so much Louisiana history.Duvalcrawler
