Sled trip with husky in the alta valley
Overview
we normally take up to 6 people at the time so we can offer you a personal and unique experience.
During the winter time, you might also experience the Northern Lights during the trip if you are lucky!
Remember the photo camera dogs love to be photographed, the dogs are very happy when guests arrive so be ready to take pictures and very important warm lingerie to yourself and good mode

What to expect
When you arrive, we will first introduce you to our dogs. They all love cuddles and you will love it too after meeting them!
After, we will put on warm clothes, especially during the winter time since it can be really cold on the sled.
Then, we will show you the sled and how to drive it if you wish. You can also just sit on the sled and let us drive it for you so you can relax and enjoy our beautiful landscapes. The trip on the sled will last around 45 minutes and will allow you to discover the amazing landscapes of the famous Alta river an to see how much our dogs love to go running.
After the tour, you can cuddle again our lovely huskies and we will also offer you a warm beverage (coffee, tea or hot chocolate) and a snack around a fire, near our lavo tent.
The whole experience will last around two or three hours, but if you just want to go dogsledding, it will only last one hour.
Please note that we take only 4 people maximum at the same time during the dog sledding trip in order to provide you a unique and personnal experience in all security. However, if you are a larger group, don´t hesitate to contact us, we can always find a solution!

- Please note There are 2 people on a sled, one controls the sled and one sits on. but then one must have good health. switching to steering the sled can of course you do if you wish

- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 6 travelers
- Confirmation will be received at time of booking, unless booked within 3 hours of travel. In this case confirmation will be received as soon as possible, subject to availability

We had no problem with booking, despite a bit late hour. Dogs are lovely and happy. With my girlfriend we enjoyed a lot private evening-nighttime dog sledding tour around Alta river area. Afterwards very nice chat at the bonfire with warm beverages and cakes/cookies.

We had a really great trip. Picked up directly from our ship by Ole j Holten. On arrival we were set up with additional cold weather gear and then introduced to the dogs, around 40 in all. All enthusiastic to get on your team. We then helped harness our six dogs and were ready to go. We were very luck with the weather cold (very) crisp with clear sky and had beautiful trip through the woods and along the river Alta. Our trip was about an hour following Ole j Holten team who was very attentive to make sure we didn’t get into difficulties. The dogs of course knew where to go (following) and look after us well. On return we had hot chocolate, cookies and cakes. We were then returned to our ship. Really nice to go with a small independent and have such a personal experience. Thank you. Nigel and Sandra P.S. We had so many wonderful experiences, we were picked up right on time at the cruise terminal, brought into their home and they provided cold weather clothes which we really appreciated. This family is so gracious, sharing these wonderful dogs with us and giving us an experience of a lifetime, my husband was so excited to be able to drive the sled, a once in a lifetime experience. It was so nice to have then take pictures of us too. We had a beautiful ride, even got to see 2 moose, the scenery was just beautiful. It was our own private outing for the 4 of us with all the personal attention, it was great. Can’t say enough about our amazing experience and them sharing home and family with us. Would highly recommend them, they went above and beyond for us.A truly fantastic experience not to be missed. Made very welcome from the beginning by the owners. We were able to meet the dogs prior to the dog sledding trip which ventured along the Alta river and surrounding area. The trip was finished with hot chocolate around an open fire.
