What to expect
Our trip starts from the center of Rhodes towards the springs of Kallithea or in a shallow sandy beach. Our travel time to there is about 1 hour as throughout our trip we will be fishing for small tuna fish and other types of fishes with professional trolling equipment which we provide to you. Kallithea is one of the most beautiful attractions of Rhodes with large caves, green and blue clear waters. Then we will go fishing for 2 hours bottom fishing and all our fishes that we will catch will be baked in the handmade BBQ made by captain Skevos. Then we will go for a swim in Kallithea springs or in a quiet and shallow sandy beach and while you swim we will prepare fresh fish, Greek salad and fresh bread baked in the wood fired oven.Our stop will last half an hour. The price includes cold beer, soft drinks and bottled mineral water. The duration of our whole trip is about 5 hours.

We originally saw this boat on the Marina in Rhodes and spoke to the chaps on board about a fishing trip. He explained how it all worked, how much it would be and also offered to pick us up from our hotel at no extra charge. We just had to make our way home via a taxi. Which was no issues. We got picked up on the morning of our trip and taken to the boat, where we climbed aboard and set of to the first fishing stop. Captain set us up on our first drift over a fishing mark, and first drop down, I think everyone on the boat had a fish. Fish came thick and fast, and after the drift the captain moved us further up for another drift. This isn't deep see fishing for tuna etc this is more a species hunt, with lots of different fish being caught, pufferfish, donkey fish, dragon fish, small snapper etc with the hope of a bigger fish coming along. All the fish that could be eaten were dispatched and then put on the bbq ready for cooking later. After a few hours of drifting, it was time to get the bbq fired up so we were taken to a calm bay where we could swim and snorkel whilst the food was being prepped. The chef even prepared chicken for my girlfriend as she does not eat fish, she thought he was joking when we booked at the marina, but they went the extra mile to make sure she wasn't hungry on the boat. Drinks were from the fridge and a good selection. To our surprise when we got back to the marina, we were told not to worry about a taxi as the chef was going our way so would drop us off. All in all a great day. If you are going to book, don't forget your swim wear, snorkel gear and a towel. “Best holiday trip ever” was how my 18 year old described this trip and it is hard to disagree. Wanting to do something different from the standard glass bottomed boat trip, and never having fished before, we thought we would give this a go. The crew (the 2 Mikes) were attentive and funny, we all successfully caught different fish including vampire fish, tiger fish, salt fish, flounders and puffers. There was an opportunity for a swim whilst a delicious lunch was prepared on the on board BBQ, drinks were in abundance including beer and soft drinks.
