The transportation is a mini bus which is very comfortable and the glass windows are clean and huge. Our tour guide/driver - CONNOR is very knowledgeable about the tour and is amazing at what he does! You can see that he really loves his job and is natural at it.Tremendous tour, the adventure was fun from start to finish. Highly recommend. We were on a cruise. Tremendous tour, the adventure was fun from start to finish. Highly recommend. We were on a cruise. My biggest fears were not getting to tour from boat (easy process, no issues at all!), return on time (they dropped us off with time to spare,). It was a full day with tour, wonderful lunch, guide kept us on track, good awareness of time, and a tremendous overview of the Yukon. Bravo!!!Our guide Jess was wonderful! One of our travelers lost his cell phone and Frontier Excursions went above and beyond to help us locate it and they will be taking care of getting it back home for him too! I can't recommend...

Booked this tour on our own (not through cruise ship) as they offer SOOO much more and for very reasonable prices! Originally found them back in late 2019 when we were first supposed to cruise to AK in 2020. Based on their overwhelming great reviews and communication/handling of cancellations with all of the changes the past few years, there was no doubt we would stick with them when finally cruising in 2022. Always heard great things about the scenery in the Yukon so went with this tour, even though it no longer included the train ride for 20222. Our guide Mike was a wealth of information and really catered the stops on the tour to the group we had. We followed the beginning path of the Klondike Gold Rush up through Fraser, British Columbia and ending at Emerald Lake/Carcross, Yukon. Pretty crazy stories to hear as well! BEAUTIFUL country up there that used to be covered in glaciers. Saw lots of mountains, waterfalls, fault lines (cool and creepy), tundra, lakes, desert and my personal favorite…a bear cub. Didn’t find its mom but we’re sure she was close by. Emerald Lake literally looks like something right of the "Wizard of Oz". Lunch was BBQ at an outpost near Carcross and actually very good. Especially their homemade donuts! The stop was more than enough time and included a museum, wildlife displays, gift shop and dog sled puppies (and cart rides if you wanted). We took their 8:30 AM tour and were back in downtown Skagway by 3:00 PM, even with all the stops Mike made for us. Gave us more than enough time for exploring the town on our own, taking the Brothel tour and shopping. Can't recommend Chilkoot Charters enough! And the process of getting into Canada...easy peesy!!! We timed it and with 15 tourists and 1 guide on the bus, the Canadian border agent literally was on the bus 14 seconds to check passports. ArriveCan paperwork wasn't even looked at since we all were from a cruise ship and that was done prior to embarkation. This tour took us way beyond the borders of Alaska and up into the Yukon Territory. This tour took us way beyond the borders of Alaska and up into the Yukon Territory. Our tour guide, Mike, was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the Gold Rush era, With only a small number on the tour, we were able to ask whatever we wanted to know. On top of if all, we were able to (for a small additional fee) experience a dog sled ride and a tour of a facility that raises dogs for the sledding. Lots of pups to see. Once in a lifetime trip.Awesome excursion. This was my second time using this tour operator. We had lots of photo ops. Our guide was very knowledgeable. I would reccomend this excursion to everyone.
