The fantastic Palácio da Pena is one of the best examples of 19th-century Romantic revivalism in Portugal.

Situated at the top of Monte da Pena, the palace was built on the site of an old monastery belonging to the Order of St. Jerome. A favored spot for Lisbon surfers when the swell doesn't wrap into the city breaks, Guincho is a long, open beach that is rarely flat, but it's also exposed to wind - hence its popularity as a summertime windsurfing haunt. It does produce quality waves though, working best on lower tides when long, reeling lefts and rights can form around shifting banks. Gets big and is famous for its brutal rip currents.
Amazing seafood and fresh fish restaurants on the coast line

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
