In my village “Delodsema Village” 70% of the man are Silver Smith, silver is everything in my village it took 60% of the economic at the village. Growing up in silver smith family we decided to created this activity to help you to experience this activity and feel the sensation create your own jewelry. The fact is we helping the people in the village to get more income for what they are doing and promote their work to feriegners, all of teachers are local The program will start by picking you up at your hotel, than we will drive you to my house at delodseme village to start the project, after we arrive we will serve you with coffee/tea and Balinese cake as warm greeting from us while we enjoy the coffee we will explain to you about Balinese house, life style, culture and traditions in bali. To begin the project we will show you some sample of jewelry or if you have your own design is okay too, after you decided the design and type of jewelry you want to make we will start by preparing the silver. We will be right next to you to help you during the project from shaping, cutting cleaning than finishing. We will make sure your safety and you get the jewelry that you want.

My son and I had a great day with Hannah. Informative and hands on and we managed to make some great pieces. Would definitely recommend this activity which is held in Ubud but transport there is provided.

I chose this business because on the booking form it stated: “after we arrive we will serve you with coffee/tea and balinese cake as warm greeting from us, while you enjoy the coffee we will explain about Balinese house, lifestyle, culture, and traditions in Bali”. We got coffee/tea, no cake, and no explanation -- which was disappointing as it was the main reason my husband agreed to come along. We thought we would be making a piece of jewelry each. I brought along a picture of a ring I liked and was told I could make it. I sought assurance several times, as I had other simpler designs I liked. We were shown how silver is melted, then given pre-made strips of silver. We got to do the basics and the more intricate work was done by the teachers (often without explanation). This did not sit well with me and I asked to give it a go myself. The teacher did try to accommodate this, but I could feel their frustration. The two teachers (husband and wife) spoke to each other exclusively in Indonesian, so we had no idea what was being said, which I found uncomfortable. In addition, the teachers were unable to duplicate my ring, and in their attempts, the ring band was stretched and needed to be cut after the design features were added, so you can still see the join. Had they been upfront, I could easily have selected another design. We enjoyed the morning, and the driver was lovely, but sadly the class did not meet our expectations for the cost. I would suggest the "booking" form be updated to reflect exactly what is included/provided in the class.BarhamTraveller
