Stop At: Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress, Sigiriya 21120 Sri Lanka
The tour will commence from either Colombo or Kandy or Negambo. The first stop over will be Dambulla and then to Sigiriya. A safari is also organized after the visit to Sigiriya. Sigiriya is another UNESCO world heritage site and located here is the famous fortress of Sigiriya which is one of the most popular places to visit in Sri Lanka. One of the ancient Kings of Sri Lanka, built his kingdom and palace on top of the Lion’s Rock. You will also observe well preserved frescoes engraved into the rock. The entrance to this fortress is through a lion’s paw.

Sigiriya (Löwenfelsen) die Höhlentempel und als Abschluss, konnten wir den Sonnenuntergang auf dem Pidurangala, mit Blick auf Sigiriya, bestaunen. Aus ursprünglich einem Tag, wurden zwei, mit spontan geplanter Übernachtung in Sigiriya Globetrotter B&B inkl. authentischen Rice & Curry. Am Ende plante Manju die restlichen 10 Tage unseres Urlaubs, schlug uns Routen vor und gab uns Hinweise. Vielen Dank für einen sehr schönen und entspannten Tag und die sehr hilfreiche Planung.Lots of fun and amazing sites to see. Highly recommend. Make sure you take a whole day out at least...especially if you want to go up sigirya.

Driver was slightly early but no problem, had our breakfast and left on time. We had a great day but the driver was key, stopping at numerous points for photos and other places not on the schedule, like the Golden Temple and to get a King Coconut, very refreshing. Having completed the Dambullah caves, we decided with the heat and our poor levels of fitness that we wouldn’t be able to climb Sigiriya. The driver suggested an elephant safari in the grounds of Sigiriya. So we did that instead. Jeep for the two of us in the reserve watching the elephants, including the babies sloshing around in the mud to Keep themselves cool. Overall, a long but great day it was, thankyou.Brilliant day out. Picked us up from our Hotel and drove us to the Dambulla Cave Temple, showed us exactly where to go and where to get tickets. Then we went to Lions Rock, again showed us to get tickets and where to go. On the drive there and back Manju even stopped off so we could take photos....
Brilliant day out. Picked us up from our Hotel and drove us to the Dambulla Cave Temple, showed us exactly where to go and where to get tickets. We had big bottles of water each which was a great need after climbing Lions Rock!! On the way back to the Hotel we stopped off for lunch, it was fantastic!! Local home cooked food and even fresh mango for dessert. 10/10 experience. The best day out so far on our trip.Everything was perfect! We had a dream day! What a great day! Manju, our driver, picked us up and took us on a drive from Sigiriya to climb the rock and take in the views. Manju gave us lots of information on the journey, pointing out places of interest and stopping when we wanted to. Afterwards he took us on a village tour in Siiriya where we took a trip on a cart pulled by an Ox through the jungle. A boat trip across the a lake took us to a village hut where a lovely local lady ground millet and coconut and prepared us a meal from it. Truly remarkable experience. We enjoyed a ride on a tuk tuk on the way back. Great day
