Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Kampong Phluk Floating Village, Siem Reap Cambodia
Then we'll go directly to the Kampong Phluk, flooded & fishing village of Tonle Sap lake, located just 21 kilometers from Siem Reap town. Once in the lake port, we'll take a local boat from the ferry to explore the famous floating villages of Kampong Phluk. There, you can see firsthand what everyday life is like for the many families who make their living primarily from fishing. Most families live on the lake shore in brightly colored houses on long poles, so the high-water levels are not a problem during the rainy season. Explore the flooded mangrove forest surrounding the area, which is home to a variety of species, including crab-eating macaques and 3, 000 inhabitants.
Duration: 4 minutes
Stop At: Siem Reap, Siem Reap, Siem Reap Province
Enjoy a selection of 10 food by your foodie local host, just for you and try authentic dishes like Num Banhchok, Spring rolls, Crispy rice pancakes, Fried insects, and more at the Siem Reap's Night Market.
This is more than just food tour, it’s a cultural experience! In between food stops, discover the city's highlights of Siem Reap for a well-rounded experience that will satisfy your appetite. Visit the most popular night market in Siem Reap for the local people, and explore food store, fruit stores, mobile clothes stores, and then transfer you back to your hotel.
Duration: 3 minutes
Additional information
- Not wheelchair accessible
- Most travelers can participate
- The end of March to the end of June is a crucial time in all the floating villages in Siem Reap, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists to experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves in the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. While some boats may become stuck, and smaller canoes are unable to traverse the jungle forest, these challenges add to the thrill of the experience. The dry season in floating village of Kompong Phluk may not be the ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard-perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of the village’s daily life that is not typically seen. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We recommend visitors to embrace this rare chance to witness a different facet of this incredible destination and truly get a different taste of life in the village.

Our tour guide David Chean and driver provided the most amazing two day tour imaginable for this magical place. Not only did they take us to all the most important temples, but they took us to the local fishing village and cultural sites. Having a private tour allowed us to see the sites at our pace. The tour guide gave us important tips for seeing Angkor Wat at sunrise and even produced a time lapse video of our morning. I give this tour five stars!Definitely worth checking out this tour to get a different experience to go along with your temple visits. Definitely worth checking out this tour to get a different experience to go along with your temple visits. Tonle Sap is a massive lake that has many tributaries feeding into it with floating communities living in stilt houses on top of the water. The boat tour takes you through these communities and then to the main lake to see the sunset (I was there during "dry season" so the water was low enough for us to walk through the areas where the stilt houses were). Super educational experience -- opens your eyes to the people who live there and exposes you to a natural beauty that is unique to the lake. My tour guide, Sean, and my driver, Pat, were excellent! This is a must see while in the SR area. You will get to see the floating village and interact with locals! It is such a great experience to see talk with children and pass out notebooks and pencils as they row home from school on their boats! What was really unique was that my guide, Makara, gr...

It is such a great experience to see talk with children and pass out notebooks and pencils as they row home from school on their boats! What was really unique was that my guide, Makara, grew up in the village! We had a wonderful time with David today visiting the floating villages and Tonlé Sap lake. We did a sunset tour and David was wonderful from pick up to drop off. He's very friendly and personable. He's passionate about food and while I missed out on this experience (food tour), I certainly hope to experience this next time I am in Siem Reap.Great tour! David our guide was super knowledgeable and entertaining the whole time. Shared amazing stories and experiences during our time. Took us to the local street food area where I would never be able to find or order any of the dishes we tried! Would recommend
