Stop At: Parque Ibirapuera, Avenida Pedro Alvares Cabral Vila Mariana, Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo 04094-050 Brazil
Ibirapuera is one of Latin America's largest urban parks, together with Chapultepec Park in Mexico City and Simón Bolívar Park in Bogota, and its iconic importance to São Paulo is often internationally comparable to that of Central Park to New York City. The park is often cited as one of the most vibrant and photographed parks in the world, [7][8] as together with its large area for leisure, jogging and walking, it hosts a vivid cultural scene with museums, a music hall, and popular events such as São Paulo Fashion Week, congresses and trade shows. It is claimed to be the most visited urban park in South America, is listed as one of the best parks in the world, [9] and is described as "a green oasis at the heart of a concrete jungle".[10]

Stop At: Museu Paulista, Rua Brigadeiro Jordao 149 Ipiranga, Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo 04210-000 Brazil
The Museu Paulista of the University of São Paulo (commonly known as Museu do Ipiranga) is a Brazilian history museum located near where Emperor Pedro I proclaimed the Brazilian independence on the banks of Ipiranga brook in the Southeast region of the city of São Paulo, then the "Caminho do Mar, " or road to the seashore. It contains a huge collection of furniture, documents and historically relevant artwork, especially relating to the Brazilian Empire era.
The most famous work of art in the collection is the 1888 painting Independência ou Morte (Independence or Death) by Pedro Américo.
A few months after the Brazilian Declaration of Independence, people started to suggest a monument on the site where the declaration took place, although they were not sure about what sort of memorial construction to build. In 1884, Italian architect Tommaso Gaudenzio Bezzi, who was hired to develop the project, chose to build an eclectic-styled construction similar to the French Palace of Versailles with impressive and perfectly manicured gardens and fountain.

The monument was designed and built by the Italian sculptor Ettore Ximenes (1855–1926) and the Italian architect Manfredo Manfredi (1859–1927) to celebrate the first centenary of the Brazilian Independence.

The Municipal Market of São Paulo (Portuguese: Mercado Municipal Paulistano, Mercado Municipal de São Paulo) is a large public market in São Paulo, Brazil.[1][2] It was designed by the architect Francisco Ramos de Azevedo and inaugurated on January 25, 1933 as a wholesale and retail post specializing in fruits, vegetables, cereals, meats, spices and other food products. The market is located in the Mercado neighborhood, a name that references the market, in the historic center of São Paulo. It is located near the Tamanduateí River in the old Várzea do Carmo, a floodplain of the river now primarily used as Dom Pedro II Park. Pass By: Catedral da Se de Sao Paulo, Praca da Se s/n, Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo 01001-000 Brazil
The São Paulo See Metropolitan Cathedral --"See" and "cathedral" mean "seat" and therefore the ecclesiastical authority of a bishop or archbishop (Portuguese: Catedral Metropolitana, or Catedral da Sé de São Paulo) is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of São Paulo, Brazil. As of 2013 the Metropolitan Archbishop of the archdiocese was Cardinal Odilo Pedro Scherer. Its construction, in Neo-Gothic style, began in 1913 and ended four decades later. It was ready for its dedication on the 400th anniversary of the foundation of the then humble villa of São Paulo by Chief or Cacique Tibiriçá and the Jesuit priests Manuel da Nóbrega and José de Anchieta. Despite having a Renaissance-styled dome, the São Paulo Metropolitan Cathedral is considered by some to be the 4th largest neo-gothic cathedral in the world.

This was the most awful tour we've ever had & are very experienced users of Viator. To begin with, we had an 8:00 tour booked & confirmed. A total of 8 people were waiting on the dock when the guide arrived. He said he was waiting for more booked passengers & by about 8:25 after many complaints from all of us, the driver pulled out. Little did any of us know, but he simply drove around the port & returned to the pickup point where eventually more people got on the van. They had booked a 9:00 tour & were confirmed. To say the least, the 8 of us on the 8:00 tour were furious. There should have been 2 vans & two guides. The van not only had empty food containers left on it, but there was no step stool to assist with getting on & off, even though the van said it was handicapped accessible. One person in our party had great difficulty getting on & off, and even though the guide said he would stop & buy a step stool, he never did. Now for the tour itself. We did NOT go to Parque Ibirapuera, NOR to the Museu Paulista. We did stop at the Modern Art Museum to use the restroom and look at the view of the city from the 8th floor, and walked around an area where there was interesting street art (our guide said we were going to see graffiti for 10 minutes so my husband stayed on the bus because he's not interested in graffiti. ) We were gone at least half an hour & the bus driver turned off the air conditioner. We did go to the Municipal Market to buy & eat our lunch & then back to the bus. We drove past the cathedral from about two blocks away, and the guide, Edson, said, "there's the cathedral ". We believe that if it were not for a passenger sitting next to Edson, he would have told us almost nothing about SaoPaulo. The driver then drove us back to the port in Santos, but often seemed to be driving in circles to use up time. In fact, he actually had to stop at a gas station to get more gas before leaving Sao Paulo. Edson should definitely enroll in tour guide school before he leads another tour. We've always been pleased with Viator and suggest you check out the operation in Santos/ São Paulo. It most certainly was not worth the $728.00 we spent for 4 people.

Our cruise ship was several hours late arriving into port, but we had notified the tour company of this. For some reason they saw this as a reason to change the the tour from São Paulo to Santos, as we had plenty of time it was agreed the São Paulo tour was to go ahead. Edson was our guide and his English was very good. He took us on a walking tour of São Paulo and his knowledge of the city was very good.

Our tour was from Santos Terminal Cruise to Sao Paulo City - the company that would do the tour was Salt and City Tours. It included sightseeing of the highlights of the city of Sao Paulo. Our guide when met us said that his company had instructed him to give us instead the Santos City tour. It was a big surprise for us, we had to insist on what we had requested in order for the guide to take us to Sao Paulo. We loved the city tour and are very grateful of everything Edson, our guide, did for us.

We had the 9am pickup. The 8am pickup drove then around the terminal on cobblestone road for an hour and then came and pickup up the 9am group. We stopped at a museum to only go to the rooftop for a dull view of the city and didn't even go into the museum to see the art deco furniture of the artwork. We went to a section of the town to see the graffiti which was the only highlight of the tour. Everything was drive by. Our guide was not knowledgeable of the history. His English was lacking/broken and has a loss of the proper words. I had to assist for the group. A 2 1/2 hour drive back to the terminal pointing out the train station, etc. Mostly on the bus the whole day. 1st time I've been disappointed by Viator. But just so you know, those that booked their tours through Oceania didn't fair much better.Because of carnival and time restrains we could not go to San Paulo. We adjusted with Hendrick our guide and had a wonderful tour in Santos. He was very good.
