The sign with my name was easy to see. It was after 11pm and dark. The driver did not speak English, so I explained to him how to get to Puerta Del Mar Hotel in Spanish. I gave him the address, yet he insisted on taking me to Las Brisas Hotel, where the valet had to explain to him how to get to my destination again. Taking a regular taxi would have cost me half the price. Lesson learned! He was a very nice man and apologized.

There is nothing worse that starting your vacation by overpaying for services, and being taken to the wrong place, abandoned there, and having to pay more to get to the right place, and getting to your resort 4 hours late, when it should have only taken 30 min.
I booked with Viator by phone and confirmed the correct address of my resort at Pacifica Grand in Zihuatinejo. They lied to me telling me their fare was cheaper than what I could get independently at the ZIH airport. I ended up paying Viator 37 for what should have cost me only 300 Pesos 22 going rate of private cabs from the airport. Then they lied again, saying I wouldn't have to wait more than about 10 min for my shared ride. I ultimately waited 45 min, during which time the AMIGO TOUR REP tried to upcharge me even more to leave sooner. While I waited for another couple, I confirmed with the rep my exact address for the Pacifica Grand Resort in Zihuatinego, just as I had done with Viator. She had a duty to tell the driver where to go. The driver spoke no English and there was no way to confirm where we were going. I was expecting a van for my large golf club case, but instead got a subcompact car where they tied my clubs onto the trunk. There was no A/C and the temp was 95 deg F 35C and 90 humidity. He took me to the wrong resort Pacifica Ixtapa which was 45 min away from the resort I had confirmed with both Viator and AMIGO. By the time I figured out I was in the wrong place, the driver ditched me. I had to pay another 23 for another cab to get to the resort in Zihuatinejo. Total cost 60. Total time 4 hours. This was 3X the going rate, and 4X the amount of time. Viator was unreachable and AMIGO wouldn't reimburse me for the extra costs or offer me a deal on my return fare. I blame Viator and AMIGO equally. I did everything I was supposed to do in confirming transportation. They ripped me off.
