The area just isn’t suited for a walking tour and especially not a tour at night. There is a lot of street traffic, a lot of noise, a lot of drunken bar goers passing through. The website said the tour would last about 75 minutes but ours was 90 minutes. The FreeMason building was amazing to see. I absolutely loved learning about Edgar Allen Poe. The beautiful house the corporate man owns was nice.

Venturing into the heart of Richmond's past with the Shadows of Shockoe Ghost Tour was a truly captivating experience. The charm of the city's historical tales was brought to life in the most intriguing way, weaving tales of the past with the eeriness of the present. Our guide, Martha, was the star of the evening. Her extensive knowledge was evident not just in the stories she told but also in the passion with which she narrated them. The tour skillfully combined the richness of Richmond's history with its haunted legacy. Navigating through some of the city's spookiest corners, the shadows seemed to come alive with stories of yesteryears, making it both an educational and exhilarating experience. Downtown Richmond, with its blend of history and modernity, served as the perfect backdrop for such a tour. As we walked its streets, every nook and cranny seemed to whisper tales from the past, thanks to Martha's vivid storytelling. In summary, the Haunts of Richmond's Shadows of Shockoe Ghost Tour is not just another ghost tour; it's a journey through time, a lesson in history, and an encounter with the unknown. Highly recommended for both history buffs and those seeking a thrilling experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5.If you're in to Poe conspiracy theories, ask for Olivia!!! If you're in to Poe conspiracy theories, ask for Olivia!!! She was a treasure trove of interesting information! My 9yo was so engaged and you should of heard the questions he was asking!!! So deep!! She blew his little mind!! We had perfect weather for it, too, which was the cherry on top! We had dinner just around the corner at the Proper Pie beforehand, which made for a really great family evening!!! Would highly recommend!!! Just FYI, there's no sign at the meet up location. We met them in front of Richbrau Brewery. If you go the the bottom of the hill on 20th St, there's a fenced-in lot for the Holocaust Museum that you can park in!! Hope you see some ghosts!!! 😅🤣😅🤩Enjoyed our tour by Beth. Very informative about parts of Shockoe history. Interesting info about some resident ghosts. Wished we could have seen the tunnel up close but skies were getting dark.
