Overview

There are two things you have to do in Seville, and we’re doing them both tonight. We’ll start at two traditional-style tapas bars, where you’ll not only learn the secrets of eating in Seville, but you’ll also get a primer in flamenco. That way, when we head to the authentic show, you’ll understand the meaning behind the art form. Afterwards, debrief the powerful show over a sit-down dinner.

- See an intimate, improvised flamenco show in the city where the art form was born.
- Learn about flamenco before the show and understand the meaning behind the art form.
- Visit three diverse eateries that tell the story of tapas from past to present.
- Enjoy one-on-one time with your guide—an expert in food, flamenco and Seville.
- Get a crash course in Spanish cured meats—and try five different kinds!

What to expect

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Maestro Marcelino, C. Hernando Colón, 9, 41004 Sevilla, Spain

We’ll start things off with a visit to a traditional abacería: part shop, part bar, and the perfect spot for a crash course in tapas in Seville. Here you’ll enjoy a selection of all of Spain’s favorite cured meats paired with a sweet vermouth (and you’re in for a pleasant surprise if you haven’t tried Spanish vermouth yet!).

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Catedral de Sevilla, Avenida de la Constitucion s/n, 41001 Seville Spain

We'll pass by Seville's famous Cathedral and Bell Tower - the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world! - where your guide will reveal stories about its history.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Las Teresas, C. Sta. Teresa, 2, 41004 Sevilla, Spain

Next, we’re off to one of Seville’s oldest and most traditional bars, dating back nearly 150 years. And we’ll set you up with the locals’ favorite order here: expertly-sliced, acorn-fed Iberian ham and a local sherry wine, one of Andalusia’s most important products. Here your expert guide will lead you through the roots and mysteries of flamenco—from its unclear origins to its current worldwide fame, and you’ll see how Seville fits into this remarkable story.

Duration: 25 minutes

Stop At: La Casa del Flamenco, Barrio de Santa Cruz Calle Ximenez de Enciso 28, 41004 Seville Spain

Then it’s time to head to the show! Tucked within Seville’s gorgeous Jewish Quarter, you’ll be enjoying the flamenco show in a stunning 15th-century building. This is authentic flamenco so you can expect a small venue with no dramatic lights or microphones, just improvised passion. Thanks to your newfound knowledge of this mysterious art, you’ll be able to savor the world-class performance a little more.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: VINERIA SAN TELMO, P.º de Catalina de Ribera, 4, 41004 Sevilla, Spain

We’ll round out our tapas experience with a sit-down dinner after the show. We’ll be at a modern, family-run tapas bar that was one of the first to bring creative fusion tapas to the city. It’s the perfect moment to share your impressions of the performance over great food and wine!

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Barrio Santa Cruz, Seville Spain

In between delicious food stops explore the streets of the iconic Santa Cruz neighborhood, where Spain's first-ever flamenco shows took place and see where the tradition thrives in modern-day Seville.

Sophia was our guide and she was excellent. Clearly knew her stuff and was very enthusiastic, informative and knowledgable. The tapas bars both old and new served excellent food and drink. The high light was definitely the Flamenco set in a gorgeous courtyard where we had front row seats. Sophia ...

This tour was canceled four days before it was to take place and there was no available alternative. A couple of weeks before, I had tried to contact this company when I had received an e-mail from them regarding a San Sebastian tour. This didn't pertain to me, of course, but I sent them an e-m...
