What to expect
Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater, feel weightless like an astronaut and be a part of the most beautiful scenery of the natural world? If you want to find out but aren’t quite ready to take the full open water course, the Discover Scuba Diving will let you try scuba diving to see if you like it.
Introductory scuba diving with SDA is safe, fun and provides the ultimate experience into the natural world. You will be briefed with the basic rules for scuba diving and then you will be ready to go for a 30-45 minute dive with an experienced Instructor. After a surface interval including a snack, you will be ready for a second dive, when you have choosen this upgrade and can apply all what you learned from your first dive. There's a lot of fun during the discovery dives.

- Diving within 18 hours of flying out is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor

Patience, warmth, knowledge, professionalism, fun of all the staff gave us one of the best experiences in our family lives, very thankful with all the staff for making 3 wonderful days with great dives and 3 new certified divers, every time I go back gets better and better.

My boyfriend and I got our open water certification with Mario. The experience was perfect for learning how to dive! Mario was an amazing instructor, knows his stuff and explains things in a way so you can easily remember, he also practiced exercises multiple times so they really sank in. We saw turtles, starfish, a seahorse, a stingray, and a big assortment of colorful fish among the lovely rocks in the bay. The office is located below an abandoned hotel and is really cool! Everyday we had other guests on the bot with us and had a good atmosphere with them and the crew. My boyfriend is Swiss and Mexican and I’m American and we had our lessons given to us in English, Spanish, and Swiss German. If you want to learn how to dive in the area this is the place for you! We can’t wait to go explore with our new certifications!IggyNOC

Since we just missed the busy season (Easter), my brother and I were treated to our own personal dive by Paolo and Captain Luis. My brother and I have dived many times but aren’t certified but we’re given really easy instructions by Paolo. At first he was shy but once he saw how much my brother and I joked around we had a great time. We had two separate dives along La Roqueta island - one along the artificial reefs and the other along the sides of the island. We were able to see octopus, fish of all colors and sizes and even swam with a turtle. Since my underwater camera wasn’t working they allow you to rent a GoPro for under $30 USD. They even took us by the Lady Guadalupe underwater shrine and explained more about the celebrations and local beliefs tied to it. We really enjoyed our time and recommend it. The SDA office itself is located below a grand hotel that has since been abandoned. Thank you SDA, Paolo and Luis for a memorable experience. 😁
