What to expect
Have you always wanted to try scuba diving? This one day experience is your doorway to the underwater world without a certification.
CLASSROOM TRAINING: In the morning, you will meet your instructor and experience a 30 minute training that goes over the basic skills and procedures of scuba diving.
SHALLOW WATER TRAINING: You and your instructor head to the beach and will practice the skills you just learned in 3-4 feet of water.
DIVE IN THE NATIONAL MARINE PARK: It’s go time! You and your instructor gear up and take a boat ride to two dive sites, MUSA (the underwater museum) and Manchones (coral reef).
This program is how many of us got started in diving. If you decide to become Open Water certified while you’re here, we’ll give you credit for the work you did during this program.

The discovery dive for beginners was perfect for my family that had never dived before and Pedro especially took his time with my wife who was extremely nervous in the water. This company makes sure you get the best experience possible, moving our date to another day when visibility and dive condition were less than ideal on our chosen date. We saw all varieties of fish, eel, sting ray, lobster, and the closest encounter with a sea turtle I've ever had! Melonie was my tour guide for this, and it was perfect. There were only 3 of us on this tour (although 2 certified divers joined us on the boat ride for the dives) and Melonie clearly taught us all the basic techniques including getting water out of your mask underwater, changing your bouyancy, etc, in hip-deep water the morning of our dive. Then about 1-5 pm we took a boat ride out to the reef and got to do some real scuba diving about 10 m deep. We had two dives (about 45 min each) and the second one was flawless, with a ton of time observing the schools of fish down there. Plus, pineapple on the boat! Melonie was super deliberate w/ making sure everyone was on the same page all the time, paying attention to beginner divers (for example adding a weight to my pack halfway through the dive to aid mobility). Would definitely recommend.We took my 10 years old nephew to an intro to diving with Jason. First the girl at the reception when we walked in was the sweetest. Then Jason took good care of us and was so friendly with the kid. He was really good at making him feel confident and have fun. We had to change plans at the last ...

We had a wonderful first scuba experience with Aqua Adventures Eco Divers Isla Mujeres!! Pedro was our guide and he was so patient and reassuring even when our daughter had to ultimately bow out. The rest of us carried on and Pedro did a great job helping me work through the psychological hold ups. Stay out of your head and you’ll be just fine! Just carb load before because it was quite a work out! I’m so glad We got to have this amazing experience with our son who has been begging to scuba for the last year! Thank you to the whole Aqua Adventures team!!!
