The monastery is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Kefalonia hosting a great number of visitors. A small church to Agios Gerasimos has been built above the tomb and the cave of the saint. The Saint also had planted a plane tree which is still preserved at the monastery.

George was the most enthusiastic guide of all our tours! He is obviously very proud of his home island and cities. Very knowledgeable about history & places. He took us EVERYWHERE around and on the island for a 7 hour tour. He was more concerned about us seeing everything than the scheduled time....

This was a great family excursion. We saw scenery that was amazing, underground caverns, small towns, and great food. We were a family of 7 including 2 children. I would highly recommend this tour and this tour company.
