A very well organised operator offering a range of routes, with a bus back to base. We chose a 16km trip for a family of 5. That seems like a long trip, but the flow of the river really helps and the passage through the valley of the 5 chateau as well as the beautiful villages of Roques de Gageac and Beynac-et-Cazenac was spectacular. We are novices (two adults in their 50s and three children 21,19 & 17) and all managed well. The river is beautifully clear and largely shallow, so go, have a go.This is a BRILLIANT thing to do! This is a BRILLIANT thing to do! The Dordogne is so beautiful you can barely believe it. You hire canoes and head down river at your own pace. There are different options in terms of how far you go. It is fun and you are definitely doing something, but the river is fast flowing and pulls you along at a good rate, so it doesn’t have to be heavy on the paddling. The valley has so many chateaus abs beautiful towns and villages, your eyes are constantly amazed and mind blown. The river is also excellent for swimming in. You can stop whenever you like and there are many river side restaurants and cafes to get refreshments. We did this twice, but I wish we had had time to do it again. Completely amazing. We had a wonderful time. Check in was very easy. The staff was helpful. We were able to float down the river vat our own pace. The scenery was beautiful.

We did 2 x self guide days trips during our 2 week holiday with this company. One 8k and one 12k and both were excellent. There is free parking at the centre and it is very well organised. There is English spoken at the centre and the canoes, lifejackets and other equipment is all in good order. It was seamless on both trips, including the bus transfers and we would use this company again if we returned. The views on the river are simply spectacular. You can stop and swim at the many beaches along the route and there are plenty of fish to see in the river. There is no rush to get to or from any location and it makes the trip nice and relaxing.
