Depart from Florence in a comfortable coach and enjoy a scenic ride through the rolling hills of Tuscany to your first destination, San Gimignano. Sitting on a hilltop, the walled town is a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for tall towers, beautiful frescoes, and some valuable artworks. Follow your tour leader as they lead you to the historical center. Enjoy about 2 hours of free time to make a fascinating discovery before you move on to the historical hamlet of Monteriggioni. The small, charming medieval village is known for the famous walls that enclose it and have remained standing to this day. Here too, you will have some free time for an inside visit to explore the hamlet.
From Monteriggioni, enjoy a short scenic ride as you cross the Chianti hills to reach a charming Winery. Relax and take some time to enjoy the flavor of three fine Chianti wines, along with balsamic vinegar. Follow that up with a 3-course typical Tuscan lunch which includes “zero food miles” products and ends with " cantucci e vin santo" .
Move on to Siena, where you will meet the professional local guide who will take you on a comprehensive tour of the historic center. See the famous 13th-century Basilica of San Domenico, a spectacular specimen of Renaissance art. Stroll through the medieval streets dotted with palaces and historic shops, and pass through Piazza del Campo. The highlight of this square is the grand Palazzo Pubblico (Town Hall). Just a little further is the 12th-century Siena Cathedral. Admire its magnificent architecture enhanced by polychrome marbles, and head inside if you have selected the option. Enjoy some free time to soak in the city's pleasant atmosphere, before returning to Florence in the evening.
