San Diego Whale Watching Cruise
Overview
We are one of the best outdoor activities to do in San Diego. Gray whale watching season spans from mid-December through April. Blue whales and fin whales are seen feeding in San Diego from April - August. Humpback whales and minke whales are seen throughout the year, particularly in the spring, summer, and fall. Aboard our 141-foot sailing yacht, the Yacht America, you will see a plethora of whales firsthand in their natural habitat. In addition to whales, we also see dolphins and sea lions, and an abundance of naval activity. Don't be surprised if you see an F-18 fly overhead!

- 9:00 AM trip: Check in between 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM
- 11:00 AM trip: Check-in starts at 10:00 AM and ends at 10:30 AM
- 1:15 PM trip: Check in between 12:30 - 12:45
- 2:00 PM Trip: Check in between 1:15 PM - 1:30 PM
- Free Parking. Check-in located next to parking lot.
- Bring layers, blankets, and jackets. It can be cold on the water!
What to expect
We sail past North Island Naval Air Station, US Navy Base Point Loma, Cabrillo National Monument, Point Loma Lighthouse to see many dolphins and whales.

I loved being out on the water on this beautiful sailing vessel. The crew were super nice and highly professional and informative. We didn’t see any whales, though we experienced a large pod of dolphins fishing along side us. We were offered a free ticket back because of the lack of whale siting...

I think that’s extremely generous as I can’t blame the crew for a lack of whales. After all they did their part in bringing us out there. It was a bit cold, bring a jacket. Though blankets were provided for those who wished yo use them. I highly recommend this peaceful outing on the Pacific ocean.Great experience. Loved the 4 hours on the sailboat. Weather was in the 70s but recommended layers! They do have blankets available. We didn’t find any whales but did see dolphins and sea lions.

Even though we weren’t lucky enough to see whales, we saw plenty of dolphins and a huge Mola mola :). Crew take “nauseous” very seriously and they’re were checking on everyone that wasn’t feeling good . Snacks and drinks, blankets, I mean, what else could you ask for? The best part is that, we’ll be able to come back to lookout for whales and we won’t have to pay this second time :) I loved and enjoyed this so much. I recommend this 100 %Awesome touring group. Very cool sailing yacht, America. Conveniently provided snacks and drinks and onboard bathroom. Crew was helpful and friendly throughout the entire cruise making sure you were comfortable. I will go back the next time I’m in San Diego in a heart beat.
