Had to sit in a minibus for an hour as the driver took us round looking at the different sites. Would have liked to have got out at times. The tour was relatively interesting but we spent a very short time at the different points of interest so it was difficult to really take in much about wha...

The tour was relatively interesting but we spent a very short time at the different points of interest so it was difficult to really take in much about what was being said. The tour guide could have been a happier person and wasn't the most welcoming. The tour only lasted 1 hour and not 2 hours as stated. We could have covered the same ground on foot in the 2 hours. The cake at the end was delicious and the view stunning.

We had a very nice time with Leopold, who told us a lot about the city's history, sharing many anecdotes and a few jokes with us while driving us around the city. This was a particularly enjoyable experience for us since we were the only ones who had booked this time-slot, and therefore got a private tour of Salzburg. The restaurant where we get to taste some cakes and coffee after the tour is also really nice, and offers one of the most beautiful views of the city. This definitely was a great way to start our week-end in Salzburg. Next time we come, we will try and book a longer tour with Leopold. We look forward to it! We chose this tour because it was the only one we could book of less than 4 hours. We had a 6 pm experience and were taking the train from Munich. Easy walk to find the meeting place for this tour. Quickly traveled in a small van around the old area of Salzburg and our guide was informative and entertaining, though most of the information was related to the movie version of Sound of Music. We learned of Salzburg’s history as an independent nation, and church/state. We chose the option of cake and coffee and the setting was spectacular. The coffee and strudel were very good. My rating is based not on lack of quality but on duration. We left to tour at 3:05 and were dropped for coffee at 3:45.
