Pass By: Quebrada Del Toro (The Toro Gorge), from Campo Quijano to Puerta Tastil Argentina

Mountains of colors, culture, native communities and one of the most important archaeological sites in Argentina. An authentic and unforgettable experience.

Stop At: Museo de Sitio Tastil, Ruta Nacional 51, Campo Quijano A4407CDA Argentina

The assembly of the museum was carried out by the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and had the purpose of revaluing the cultural identity and strengthening the memory for the community of Santa Rosa de Tastil, the Quebrada del Toro and the Puna, awakening the interest and reflection of the visitor about the history and present of the community, the archaeological site of Tastil and its surroundings.

The new script of the museum restores to Tastil the world-renowned "Tastil Dancer", a petroglyph of extraordinary value, which returns to its place of origin. It also includes a space to inform the tourist about the Puna corridor and turn the Museum into an attractive space that invites you to visit the town.

The Museum uses local materials in the construction of the building, taking advantage of natural light and incorporating unconventional electrical energy throughout the building, making it an environmentally friendly museum.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Salinas Grandes, 4600 Argentina

Its origin is volcanic from approximately 10 million years ago, when the tectonic plates of the continent collided with the Pacific. There the mountains rise, forming an endorheic basin. When the volcanoes erupt, all the mineralized water, salty waters and molten rocks go down like rivers, being trapped in the endorheic basin. Gradually, in the Quaternary period, these waters evaporate and give shape to the salt flats. They have the particularity that they are crossed by the RN 52 that connects the Argentine Republic with the Chilean Republic through the Jama Pass. Like every region of Puno, it has thermal amplitude.
