Cabo Verde is home to populations of 3 species of turtles. The Caretta caretta turtle (loggerhead turtle), is the most common species on Cape Verde. The sandy beaches of Cape Verde are one of the most important nesting sites for common turtles.

Viste diverse tartarughe. In fase di deposizione delle uova ma anche che uscivano e entravano in mare. Abbiamo anche incontrato i ranger che le controllano e le misurano.

Experiência única na vida. O trabalho feito pelo Chan, o nosso guia, bem como os projectos de protecção da biodiversidade são de louvar. Sem dúvida as condições e o conhecimento/experiência fizeram a diferença para que conseguissemos não só ver o desovar das tartarugas, bem como perceber todo o ciclo de vida e as ameaças que a que estes animais estão sujeitos. É de ressalvar que deve existir um grande respeito pelas regras, nomeadamente o desligar dos flashes do telemóveis (idealmente levar uma luz vermelha) e o mínimo de barulho possivel. As tartarugas e o Chan tratam do resto!BrunoA4725
